I can still remember good old Mr. Fender who ran the corner grocery store Oh, he'd stroll down the aisle with a big friendly smile And he'd say, "Howdy", when you walked in the door Always treated me nice, gave me kindly advice I don't know why I set fire to his place Oh, I'll never forget the day, I bashed in his head Well you should've seen the look on his face --- The ball is round, the game lasts 90 minutes. I mean, even if youre successful in adulthood, you can still be reminiscent of your childhood days. The days when the most responsibility you had was getting your homework done (maybe having a chore or 2 you had to do every now and then) and didnt have to be concerned with anything money related. And when you always had more opportunities to hang out with friends without mixed work schedules getting in the way of things. Where you had a lot more free time in general. Granted I dont know why anyone would miss stuff like the crappy school lunches, but I dont think theres anything wrong with missing your childhood years. ... Copied to Clipboard!

It's always gonna be hard to split nostalgia from reality. Some young adult in 2049 is gonna be daydreaming about how good the 2020's were lmao. But some adult in the 1990's is probably gonna ltao at us. Yet at the same time, we really did live through a crazy accelerated evolution in technology. 2D to 3D, to HD. Landlines and payphones to cell phones, and desktops and laptops to smart phones and tablets. Pokemon on a Gameboy to Pokemon on a phone (yeah not the same but still GO is still huge). Telecommunications and post getting largely replaced by internet-based mediums. Social media, distribution of media etc. We went from 8 tracks to CDs to MP3s and the controversy over rights and protections of musical property to nobody stopping us from just playing YT for free (ish) in our cars. There are 1st world cities that didn't exist before. The knowledge that has become more common has turned information distribution into a free-thought warzone this involves politics, science, social norms, education, labor expectations, all forms of consumption. Videos of faraway places can provide a more authentic lens in such a life to the point it can spoil the traditional experience of discovery. The evolution of taste has blown up into new extremes. Culinary options and the types of facilities available to us are much different. The only thing that really stayed the same was GameFAQs until now as we here will cease to exist altogether by the doing of our new overlords. This place is a product of a fond past time. Getting into it with someone in the early 2000's over a trivial topic (videogames) felt more compelling. Like there was a motivation to do the dial up shit etc just to keep going back and forth because it was something to do outside of playing the video game itself as opposed to consuming outside media for the expanded experience. That being said, I think my most insane wish in life would be to experience the early 90's as a well-off adult for a year. I would've liked to know what it was like to be independent, as opposed to a kid/toddler stuck between the same 4 walls for most days at the babysitter. I'd like to know what romanticism was like compared to today, and what people were motivated to persist with. See what people saw, experience the stuff people reminisced about but I only saw from afar. --- Competing every night, both ends, shoot inside/outside, fast break, transition, Monta Ellis have it all ...
