I would say at least it's not as bad as the Fandom Wikis, in that adblock still works 99% of the time.

Took 'em remarkably little time to start shuttering boards and rewriting the ToS with a bunch of bullshit errata derived from exactly one line from one post on a board that sees like a dozen hits a day.

Is it only slow when it's not batshit, is that why we've seen none of the proposed positives?

I use ad block, so gamefaqs is still mostly the same experience for me.

I guess aside from everyone walking on eggshells because of the... inconsistent mod behaviors.

So what exactly is the endgame for Fandom toward making this site relevant? It sometimes feels like going to Blockbuster near the end when I visit this site. Reddit, Twitch, YouTube all seem like where all the new people go to discuss games. This site is one people go "when I was young I came here". Which isnt a good for growth of a site.

Probably on YouTube. People have walkthroughs up on that site the day games are released. GameFAQs sometimes doesn't have guides for months after a release if they ever get one.

I don't think they have one to be honest. I used to be of the opinion that they were slowly killing the site, but I feel like if that was truly the case we'd be gone by now.

From my understanding its a similar situation to when 4Kids acquired One Piece as in it was something they glanced at that was part of a package deal and they didn't really know what they were buying. Because at first glance this place just resembles another Moby Games. They probably weren't aware the boards had a vocal cult fanbase.

I like how he stopped pretending to care after the whole thing where he let that troll back in. He's definitely extraordinarily inept for the position he was given. I hope he didn't volunteer for it.

DToast account was created in Jan 2023. TimmyQuivy May 2023. So they joined recently. I wonder if they werent a part of Fandom would they have created accounts here. One of them I forget who kept calling this board "The CE".

Then Fandom was like "Aight Toasty and Timmy, we're putting you in charge of it. Make us some money!"

Then they saw CE, hated us from the get go, and declared war.

Pretty much the only thing of substance in the Fandom TOU is a section that says literally anything you post or upload here automatically belongs to them and there's nothing the users can do about it.

Just like I know it's part of a Community Manager's job to engage with the community. Yet DToast has been MIA for months; outside his usual activity on the mod board, I assume.

Fandom has owned the site for two years, now. And so far, all they've done is shutter boards, ban topics, and bury us with ads. Ads which, Funnily enough, took basically NO time for them to implement; where's the "slow moving corporate structure," there?

I don't think it's unreasonable at this stage of the game to ask "when os Fandom finally going to do something for US? You know, the customers/users?

half the ads I get here on my phone are for fandom itself.

Yeah, I would be very suprised if those guys had any prior connection to the site prior to being hired. Honestly, I don't know because my knowledge basically extends to message board rumors, but I get feeling they either already did shit for Fandom and got stuck with the admin role or were brought on thinking it was a typical social media job.

Yeah, the only thing I saw was infinitely more ads, especially on mobile, which I promptly got adblockers for.

That's the thing, we really arn't the customer here. That would primarily be the advertising agencies.

Additionally, most long time users use adblock. So if anything they probably lose money on our traffic.

I see zero ads on mine, but I dont want to say what it is cause fuckdom will find a way around it.
