This is one of the most impressive Metroidvanias I've played. Caveats for this version are fewer, with a Ubisoft account required and Denuvo built in. And Ubisoft still makes money off it. If any of those are deal breakers, it's your call.

I want to play this but having DRM and requiring an account when Steam is already DRM and already requires an account is a deal breaker, yeah

If it's like their other stuff then you just need an Ubisoft account, not the launcher. It'll launch just like any other Steam game.

I'm told it doesn't use a Ubisoft launcher. You can link your Steam account to your Ubisoft account.

I think Switch is still the ideal console for this because you don't need a Ubisoft account.

My rule of thumb is to just avoid all Ubisoft and all EA. Which is a shame, because I'd like to play it, but I'm not going to bother with...whatever the hell Ubisoft is going to make me do beyond simply pay for the game.
