So I've already spent $2500 on a 3 month course with a female dating coach. I was at a point where I was feeling really low, lonely and low self esteem. So I figured I would "invest in myself" by enrolling in a course.

It was initially unclear all of the benefits of the course but ultimately it involved 3 group coaching sessions and a package of videos teaching specifically techniques how to improve with women and social skills.

I liked coaching sessions but overall it was pretty expensive for what I was getting. Also the website that hosted the videos had a lot of issues where the videos would not show on my end and when I tried to reach out to get the issue resolved they were more focused on getting me to buy the best package of the course

So two days ago in the call with their team I was sold on an exclusive opportunity to join their next program, that would normally cost $12000 for 6 months, but they were working me a deal where I would "only" need to pay $4000 for 3 months or $5000 if I split the payments up. It would include 3 dates with women who would give their honest ratings on how I am as a match, a chat group of other people in the program, weekly accountability calls, and an overhaul/review of my dating app profiles

I was still for some reason open to doing it was requesting time for me to go home and get my financial information to make the initial payment, but the woman was so pushy trying to get me to close over the phone, and eventually started talking down to my asking questions like why wouldn't I be prepared with everything I need before the meeting on the phone. Also saying that the meeting is taking time out of her busy day and they she has different business ventures that she is working on like a dating podcast etc basically saying I'm wasting her time.

And overall the past two days I've been fighting with myself to stick to my convictions and not buy this course because overall I don't like how I was treated on the call.

I feel bad because I wanted to at least get my customer service issue resolved where I can at least access the videos I payed for in the initial package, but I don't feel comfortable reaching out to them again due to the interaction they I had. They were expecting me to make that initial payment two days ago and I now am at the point where I refuse and I'm sticking to it. They're mainly only available via email and zoom and I feel like if I'm only mentioning that issue I'll be ignored or demeaned for not following through with the next group package. She said that no one else in the class had issues accessing the website so it's probably an issue on my end and not her site, but she's willing to put me in a call with her technical support but she's hasn't done it yet

Overall I feel bad and embarrassed that I got myself wrapped up in this in the first place. I had good intentions initially and thought I could benefit because some of what she and her team was coaching seemed to be able to help, but overall I haven't had a good experience and don't feel like I've had an outlet to express that or at least get everything I paid for even if it is overpriced

Aside from a marriage kouncillor, I simply kannot imagine someone asking for that much money to talk about the opposite sex and not being full of shit.

Thanks, I have a good working relationship with her. She very helpful and encouraging. Also not exorbitant. She only charges $45 an hr which I think is very fair for the benefit that I've been gaining

I think we're in what people call a loneliness epidemic, there's people of all walks of life going through it right now

I've managed to channel my loneliness into video games and sleeping. The effect stops whenever I can't distract myself with something as such, I've become terrified of being alone with my thoughts.

God, Im so glad I learned how to be happy without having to be in a relationship. Yeesh.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking too, I was hopeful about it though because personality wise, initially she and her coworker didn't seem half bad, especially her coworker

But overall it's not worth it. I wish I didn't fall into it in the first place but I fell into the whole "invest in yourself" spiel.

Honestly, same. Dating is just something thats not been a part of my life. And its not like I havent tried, its just that no ones really been interested. And its a little frustrating (or, used to be) because I never thought there was anything really wrong with me (other than not being the most attractive guy, but Im not THAT bad-looking I think ).

But anyone I asked out would either give me non-answers, or make up fake reasons, etc. And then of course my favorite part is when my friends say how so-and-so was talking about how I asked them out and they would make like a disgusted face while they were talking about it. And it wasnt like a one-time thing either.

Or my friends would be like youre looking to date someone, what about [me]? and no one ever was enthusiastic about it. It was always ew hes weird or a grossed out face or whatever.

Then on those rare occasions where I could actually get a girl to be with me, it never lasted more than a few months and they basically couldnt dump me fast enough

So yeah.. Im one of those people just not meant to be with someone romantically. And its fine because Ive really enjoyed living on my own. Itll probably come back to bite me in the ass someday but eh Ill deal with it then.

I really don't mean to dunk on the topic creator but this reads to me like when people get an obvious scam email on the level of a Prince from Nigeria scam and they actually ask other people "Is this real?" Like they still get partially pulled in by the most obvious scams known to man.

You already lost $2,500. Cut your losses and move on. You paid and learned a lesson but not the one they were offering.

Does she have an opinion on all of this? Do they know how much you're paying and how much you're being pressured to spend bigger?

You have a problem with their service but they just ignore you and push for more money. Huge red flag. Get out. Don't lose more to them.
