My grandfather was a grievance counselor at a South Carolina prison where Stanko was housed during his first arrest for kidnapping.

He befriended Stanko (and told me he feels stupid about it now) and even got a personally signed copy of a book Stanko co-written called "Living in Prison".

When the manhunt for him was going on, my grandmother was in fear of her life because he at one point wanted to come to the house.

It's kinda scary to think that I knew of him but didn't know the whole truth until now. I also didn't know every time a crime show involving him my grandmother would get upset. She still hasn't forgiven my grandfather for the mistake.

Anyway, I feel uneasy. I'm going to get some water.

I remember that guy, didn't they catch him in Augusta, after he was on the run? I mean they keep saying how smart this dude was , but he was just bridge away from the SC.

He's more willful and sociopathic than "smart", from what I could gather.

And the crux of his insanity defense was a "brain defect". I'm not buying either.

Yeah, I understand. Humor isn't one of my coping skills and is more a creative outlet for me. I tend to prefer actually changing the temperature in my room to cope. I get overheated sometimes when I'm agitated and like a cool room in general.

Don't be rattle man. That guy is going to die by getting shot over and over. He isn't going to be able to hurt your family now. We was good talker as you see he was able to befriend people after he got out for kidnapping. But those does are over.

My family is related to Julia Roberts via marriage. Her husband, Daniel Moder, is related to my late grandmother as her maiden name was Moder. At least that's what some folks in my family on my dad's side believe anyway. I don't really believe it, but it's fun to think about.

Point is, learning you may be related or connected to someone famous or infamous is always a very surreal feeling.

quipping and trying to be funny is drizztlink's entire thing. he isn't doing it to cope or provide levity. his only other setting is arguing and throwing around insults. it's pretty obnoxious, like if you had an annoying little brother who had an annoying friend, who had an annoying little brother

It's not you why I'm agitated. I tend to get paranoid on certain things and the possibility that my grandmother could have died is a bit unexpected.

But you're fine. I just wanted to get this off my chest and all that.

Made me think of the time I looked into my family history and an ancestor of mine was burned at the stake for being a witch in England way back when.
