It had a lot of the same charm as the previous ones, good humor, good action, and David Harbour was great in the part. Rob Zombie Halloween. I can understand people not liking his style but you can't deny that he has style. Most of the complaints were just "it's not the original". Like, ok, that's the point. Even generally accepted all time classics have people who think the movie "sucks" so overall I never really defend an opinion. There are sooooooooooo many movies I love, especially from growing up in the 80's that I know are average movies but I love them. I don't care what anyone else thinks. With that being said my favorite genre is westerns. I grew up on all the classics from the 50's and 60's both shows and movies because that is what my dad watched and I fell in love with them. I continued to watch them all my life and continued to love them. There are so many classics I love that I know most people are never going to give a damn about and would think were boring. But I will always bring them up in movie threads as a recommendation. This year I'm super excited that Shane (1953) is getting a 4K blu-ray release. I already added one of my favorites to the collection this year when they released a 4K version of Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) not too long ago. That made me very happy. I already have Unforgiven (1992) in 4K but I really wish they would do a nice 4K version of Pale Rider (1985) in 4K because honestly the blu-ray is mediocre. There is no 4K of Outlaw Josey Wales (1976) but at least that has a fantastic blu-ray. There is a number of other famous Clint Eastwood westerns that have gotten 4K treatment. And Jeremiah Johnson (1972) is a very solid blu-ray but I would gladly take a 4K of that if it happened to come to pass. We got Magnificent Seven (1960) 4K last year.
