We dug out the old school physical paperwork. Either way, I don't remember getting y2k'd by the issue. The issue I had sounded exactly like what everybody described for this. And it was something I'd never encountered before. If it's unrelated, that's just weird timing. Anyway, that laptop was out of order for days. Actually, I think it only started working when I checked it on Friday.
