No. I can't stand the aftertaste. Some alternative sweeteners are better than others. But they all have a funky aftertaste that I don't like and I don't have to cut out sugars so I don't bother with them.

I'm not the most nutrition-conscious guy but when the answer to "why did everyone jump ship to this new trendy artificial sweetener" is perpetually "the last one ate holes in your *insert body part here*" I've sorta drawn the conclusion that real sugar is probably a better option.

I have the occasional diet soda or a gatorade zero.

Despite people online always saying they are "just as bad if not worse for you" and no healthier than regular sugar they do in fact make a difference when it comes to blood sugar and if you are diabetic it makes a difference.

I'm not saying it is a miracle drink or that it is completely good for you. I'm just saying from a blood glucose standpoint it absolutely reacts differently from standard sugar drinks and I have had multiple doctors and nutritionists tell me for a diabetic, an occasional diet soda or zero sugar drink with artificial sweetener is a good option.

I'll take their advice over the people online who googled some articles who keep saying "That stuff is worse for you than the sugar" I totally understand if you don't like the taste though. But I don't mind the taste and after being off sugar for so many years I actually enjoy the taste of some of them. Back when I was a kid who ate a ton of sugar I hated them. Now it is different.

I only drink diet/zero. The lack of sugar means it doesn't absolutely fuck up my blood sugar the way regular soda does. And I'm so used to the taste that when I accidentally get a regular soda instead, I'm immediately grossed out by the taste and stickiness.

if I want something that taste like soda I drink soda, if Im watching my sugar intake I drink water (maybe with a fruit to add taste)

diet sodas have most of the negative chemicals as regular soda but taste worst.

Nah diet is gross. Honestly the regular shit is gross too. IDK if they used real sugar when I was a kid but this corn syrup soda is awful and I don't remember is being that bad when I was young.

when it came to drink choices. there's no going back to soda (even if it's diet or zero). probably going to get flak for this but have been choosing diet fizzy water aka sparkling water. it doesn't seem to have the diety aftertaste if know which ones to buy. even drank zero calorie lemonade (not half bad either).

I don't drink soda often, but when I do it's always diet/zero. The taste of the regular kind is sweeter than I like, and regular coke especially makes my stummy upset.

I'm not gonna defend it

But I've seen my uncle religiously drink diet coke for like 3 decades straight. As in, breakfast lunch dinner levels. When I'm unloaded the car after a Costco trip, I'd sometimes see a 36 pack twice a week.

So far he's notably had kidney failure at like age 62, which is something that runs in his side of the family (grandma had it at the same age), so hard to say of/how much this played a part.

That being said, I'll take a zero drink occasionally. It's in that "well, anything can kill you" category for me, not the "I just took some years off my life" category. However, yes I progressively aim for less and less of that stuff.

I drink pop/soda rarely, but Ill get a cane sugar version of something if I do.

I drink gatorade after I run. I used to do G/2, which was about 1/3 the sugar of regular gatorade. It was discontinued, so I do gatorade zero after jogging now. Regular gatorade is too syrupy for me.

My regular drinks are a cup of tea in the morning and a cup of coffee in the afternoon with water all day.

I'm pre diabetic so I mostly drink diet/zero stuff these days. I sometimes have normal soda but I try make sure to keep it to like 1 drink a day (and I don't have it every day)

Btw I heard diet coke and coke zero are literally the same thing. Just a different branding. Because diet coke has traditionally been marketed to women. Coke zero is just diet coke for men

Coke Zero tastes different so this is not quite right, they might both be 0 calorie 0 sugar sodas but they are formulated differently. It's basically like saying Pepsi and Coke taste the same because they share similar ingredients, when most people that drink one often can tell the difference.
