I was wondering when this topic would pop up! Legit super excited for this, which is weird since I haven't been actually hyped for a gacha since FGO launched.

I was in CBT2 and while the style and overall vibes were 10/10, there were lots of little things about the game that I really wanted to see improved. Well, from all I've been seeing and reading, all of those things and more were improved! By a lot, actually. Reminds me a lot of what apparently happened with Star Rail where beta testers were saying it was mid and then it absolutely exploded upon launch.

Looking forward to playing this. Really love the animation expressions and the character design is a big step up in variety over Genshin and Star Rail. I mean we got BEAR, robot Deadpool, blue demon girl, shark waifu and thats just at launch.

Probably wont have time to play tomorrow, but Ill jump in on Friday.

I'll give it a shot but I'm not really a character action freak so I don't know if I'll stay with it

So who are you guys aiming for out of who we have seen so far? Im really liking a lot of the 4*/A rank designs like Anby, Billy and Soukaku. 5*/S rank wise so far Id say I want Ellen, Grace, Soldier 11 and Nekomata

5* I will probably pull for both Ellen and Zhu, which should be doable. From the standard banner I'd like S11 and Grace.

A couple of things that'll help with some launch day decisions:

The English voice acting is extremely on point and I highly recommend playing the game with it. Fits the vibe perfectly, no character is less than "good" and some are fucking incredible (Billy)

Speaking of voices, something really nice is that while you get a choice between the brother or sister being your main character, both stay involved in the plot and your character does not become a silent protagonist. They still talk during cutscenes and will voice your dialogue selections, which is fun because a lot of them are snarky as hell. You do hear a lot more of the sibling you don't pick, though, as they basically become your navigator/operator.

That last part I dislike because I want to play as the girl and also hear her talk more

I don't follow Hoyo's other modern stuff so I don't know where the bar is but god damn their marketing is good.

Star Rails marketing is also insanely good. I haven't really kept up with Genshin marketing though so can't comment on that

You know how these things go, though.

Apparently you can switch between male and female MCs for all the, like, walking around and conversation quest stuff. Stuck with the initial MC of your choice for all the main quests though.

Story progression used to cost energy in the beta I played - definitely don't miss that!

Speaking of the beta, I laughed out loud the first time you get sent to bed in the story and realized they have an actual bedroom now - that room wasn't in the game yet in the beta so you just crashed on the couch every night, made Phaethon's lives seem so sad.

Didn't get very far tonight, but combat feels better than I expected. And the production value is pretty insane. I might just stick to this after all.

Ahhhh that's explain it, if unlocks weren't retuned from that then they would have a reason to keep the grinding gated in pretty far.

It's a good thing I already know how Mihoyo games work because these menus are insane. Stylish as hell, but don't seem very legible if you don't know what you're looking for.

I just played until unlocking the ability to roll on banners and stopped. Do we know what banner is after the shark maid? I mean, shark maid seems hard to top but figured I'd ask before I blow any free pulls.

I was planning on just taking whatever I get, but the first time through, I got a Nicole, an Anby, and a weapon in 30 pulls, so I did another, and there I just got 3 weapons. So I guess I'm trying a third time.

You'd have to make a new PSN account because the playstation users link it to the Hoyoverse ID for that account. Like I've already logged in with my hoyoverse account so it's linked to Genshin and Star Rail, no rerolling for me.

Actually I guess you can switch your region at the title screen to play on a different server, each region tracks progress separately so you can have multiple "files" on the same account. No idea how bad the lag might get with that, though.

I got Fire Girl for my guarantee and Mechanic Girl as an early 50/50 loss for the limited banner, which is basically all I wanted outside of Ellen herself, so I'm G2G as long as I can actually end up getting Ellen.

I got Nekomata... twice, on the standard banner. I'm not going to rue my luck or anything, but between her Corin and Billy, that's a lot of physical attackers!

Played through the prologue this morning. Gameplay is really good, but I dont love the menus. Theyre stylish but not nearly as clean and easy to navigate as other Hoyo games.

For those wondering, you unlock the ability to spend energy shortly after the first Neko story mission, right after the game tutorializes you on coffee.

I guess they weren't cruel enough to make you sit on energy after forcing you to overcap lol.

You can use your standard (silver) pulls whenever you want, just make sure to not spend any of the convertible currency on standard pulls ever. All actual currency should be converted to limited (rainbow) pulls and spent on the limited banner, but you should only be pulling on that if you want Ellen.

Oh thank fuck, was on my last 10 searches (had to convert to get 1 tape to get the 10 search discount) and I got the boy. Also got Piper. Game can be actually played now.
