Oh it's too late but I was gonna say, the bear is a rate up 4* on Zhu Yuan banner so technically you should be saving for her. It's really hard to get 4*s unless they're rate up, although as a launch character you'll also be able to buy copies of him from the shop with f2p currency.

However I think Zhu Yuan is in the cop faction, tragic for bear wanters.

Do the factions matter a lot? Ive just been planning to use whoever I like the way Ive done with the other Hoyo games Ive played

I think most characters have unique buffs for being in parties with matching factions and/or elements.

Prydwen seems fairly insistent that rigid team comps are a thing in this game due to that passive effect that wants you to match factions/elements whilst also having a dedicated dps, stun unit and support. e.g. for the character I pulled it's pretty much "You will pair her up with Anby and Nicole and you will like it". At least until more characters are released anyway.

I'm sure this won't matter terribly for story content but for the harder stuff it probably will.

Yeah, I just looked that up last night, and ngl that's REALLY soured me on the game in general that good team comps are THAT rigid.

My third try at getting someone new got me Lucy and more starter character dupes, so I figured I'd stick with that since at least it's someone else I get to play as.

Then I looked up what to do with her, and she doesn't share a faction or element with anyone I have, so I'm just better off running Billy/Anby/Nicole anyway, and that's just depressing.

I mean that stuff isn't going to matter for ages, I don't see why there's a reason to worry about it now.

In Star Rail I didn't even level relics until account level 60 and it was never an issue lol.

I'm literally just using Ben and anyone else is just a fun addition, faction bonus or not

The team building restrictions shouldn't really matter significantly until you're already at a point with your account where you have enough A Ranks that you'll be able to build around whatever you have. (Currently there are some exceptions to that since we only have the starting roster, but even then it's likely to smooth out before you have to start seriously thinking about meta)

Honestly the fact that factions trigger the bonus means the door is theoretically open for multi element teams, which is already way more flexible than these types of games usually are. We'll see for sure once more agents start getting added, though.

Star Rail didn't make me feel like they were punishing me for not spending money til recently. So I wouldn't worry too much.

How do I do this stock up web event through PS5 version? I scanned the QR code, but I dunno what to put for the sign in info since PlayStation has its own ID stuff for Hoyo. I dont recall ever having to sign in for Genshins web events at least

Got Soldier 11 as my guaranteed S-rank at 50 pulls. Ill take it.

I got Koleda as my guarantee and so did both of my IRL friends who are playing, was so damn funny.

Def want to get Soldier 11 as well now since that'd be a rocking fire team together with Ben - plus she's got Nero timed hit mechanics and that tickles my brain

My first 20 standard pulls only got me Piper sadly, but maybe my luck will turn around. Every character so far feels really fun to play as though so thats great. Im having way more fun with the combat than I expected I would.

The perfect parry sound effect is maybe the best of any game I've ever played so that alone is honestly enough to keep my dopamine flowing during these early fights

Yeah, I dunno if it's fun because the combat is actually good, or if it just feels really good. Because it definitely feels really good.

The combat is definitely not the most indepth, at least in these early parts, but it feels good still so I'm alright with it

Based on my experience with the beta, the combat does eventually become actually good, but you'll be going through hours and hours of what amounts to tutorials before that. Hollow Zero is when you first start scratching at what endgame can kinda-sorta look like, and Shiyu Defense apparently moreso. (That mode wasn't included in the one I played in)

I got the enormous titty maid with the creepy dolls as my free standard, which isn't terribly exciting but I guess she's a support that buffs damage penetration which is probably good? Idk, the combat is flashy but hell if I know what's going on.

So is the strat to match elements and/or factions?

Anby is adorable and damn Suzie Yueng is now in at least 3 Hoyo games. Genshins Eula, Star Rails Hanya and ZZZs Piper. Girl has range

Is Nekomata bad? In her trial shes a ton of fun to attack with. If shark girl and the characters on her banner have a trial I couldnt find it though

Bearman get!!! From the basic gacha, no less.

Game is fun so far. Enemies feel a bit HP spongey though, I might not have the hang of it yet, probably need to be more liberally leveling up characters / engines.

Nekomata's trial made her seem way better than Koleda at least. I actually wanted her the most out of anyone but Rina.

Nekomata is great! Her first mindscape makes her backstab based so positioning with her by zipping through the enemy can be a lot of fun once battles get more frantic.

Mostly got smothered in engines

Boob Maid might end up being a good pull later when there's more electric dps units out because there's very few of them right now (this is me coping)

I got the amazing Anby for electric. ZZZs version of Constellations/Eidolons being Cinema posters is amazing

Alright I unlocked Simulated Uni..er...Hollow Zero...and the minion gacha. Man the early progression in this game feels so slow even compared to Genshin and Star Rail, and I'm barely earning limited pulls. I think it's mostly, there's a lot of very basic tutorials so there's a lot of information being doled out but not a lot of depth.

I don't even want to pull on this bangboo banner because you're supposed to select an S-rank to work towards and I don't know what the fuck any of this actually does!

What's the word so far on A Rank W-Engine importance?

A Rank agent's signature W-Engines are A rank so those at least are really good! Beyond that I think it's really too early to know for sure. If every limited agent comes with a limited exclusive weapon as great as Ellen's then A Ranks will probably become the cope domain is my guess.
