just got to zone 4. So far the zones just keep getting better

Although i do think it could have been cool to have that massive bridge as a zone or part of a zone

At some point in this expansion they need to give us a Gilgamesh fight on that bridge. "Battle on the Bigger Bridge".

So for those that have gotten far into DT's story, how neccessary is it to know the knowledge from the Endwalker alliance raids? Yoshi-P said something to the effect that you should do them before doing DT, and after finishing Pandemonium last night, I was considering moving on to the Alliance raids before continuing DT, but only if they're needed.

What say you?

Idk I skipped most of the cutscenes. The story wasn't really gripping me.

Anyways I finished the main quest and the final battle my entire party failed one mechanic and it was a riot

I don't understand how people can play such narrative driven games by entirely skipping the plot lol.

Yeah, playing a story-driven MMO critically acclaimed for its story, just to skip the entire story will never add up in my mind. Like, everything revolves around the plot and world building and such to such an insane degree, I can't imagine the combat aspects alone being enough to hook you if you don't care about anything else. But different strokes, and all that.

In zone 5 / lv97 MSQ.
This is probably my least favorite zone thus far, but only because it's so serious and bleak compared to the previous ones. All the new lore is really cool, though. When they mentioned Alexandria, I was like "oh yeah, this is supposed to be the 'FF9 reference' expansion, wasn't it lol".

Sphene's actor sounds familiar, but I can't quite place it. Thought it was Lyse's at first, like she's her reflection or something, but I doubt it. Not going to look it up, though, in case of spoilers.

Honestly wasn't expecting the story to go this way. It's really cool.

I remember letting my brother play my copy of FF8 when we were young. He would always skip through the dialogue quickly. He'd then constantly ask me where he was supposed to go or ask what's going on.

Any Xbox players experienced the fixes from today? Curious to see if their stopgap worked or not.

I think I've had a single queue longer than 100 this entire time and it was when all the NA servers died for like 5 min lol.

I didn't entirely skip it. I skipped it around S9 when it became clear the story isn't very good.

I remember one time Yoshida was asked about mount music and he said they have to carefully pick and choose which mounts get unique music because there's only a finite amount of spots for it. The level of spaghetti they have to deal with has to be insane.

It was super easy to get this mount though. All it took me was buying 3 bottles of Mt. Dew Purple Thunder at Circle K for $6.

The mount they are giving away via Twitch drops right now was a Butterfinger promotion at first. Mountain Zu will probably be the same down the road.

Is there a merchant where I can buy the kind of clothes the people here wear?

Also, I'm getting Stray vibes from this entire section of the story. Wasn't expecting that.

I think most of their clothes are the PvP sets that were added sometime in EW.

I've completed the MSQ and I don't think the alliance raid stuff was mentioned at all.

Was it the alliance raids (The Twelve) or the regular raids (Pandaemonium) that he said was necessary?

Either way, I haven't come across anything relevant to either thus far. Except maybe like some nitty gritty details about how souls and memories work that gets talked about in Pandaemonium.

I'm pretty sure that gets covered in Endwalker MSQ too since it's relevant to how Fanny boy works, not to mention the creations in Elpis.

I had so much scheduled these last few days, I've barely even moved past from getting to Solution 9. I gotta fix that tonight.

I feel like I'm finally about to get to the 6th zone.

~I'm still waiting for this "bad voice acting" from Wuk Lamat everyone on Reddit claims exists. I feel like white boys just couldn't handle her accent at this point.
~I think this expansion simultaneously has some of the most fun dungeons and bosses, but also the easiest. I haven't died to anything in a while. But I think they've all been pretty cool.

Finally on the 6th zone.

~It's not at all what I was expecting it to look like, but it's still pretty cool at the same.

~I feel like I'm sort of confused on parts of the plot, though. Endless are just the facsimile people built from the memories of the dead, but the people of Solution Nine aren't Endless, they're just regular people who can buy backup souls, yeah? In the golden city, the Endless exist simply as physical aether, while in the Source they need a medium -- like a robot body -- to exist?

To organize my thoughts... When a person w/ a regulator dies, their soul is harvested and packaged for resale, while their memories (and all memories of them from everyone else) are funneled into the golden city terminals to be revived as an Endless at a later point. But the resold souls can only be used once and then continue onto the lifestream like normal? Or are the resold souls gathered up again after us, to be infinitely redistributed?

This is all stuff that's probably been explained by now, but some details have already faded from my memory lol

Something I just learned.

If you've already done Wanderer's Palace (Hard) before doing some of the Yak T'el sidequests, there's a reference to it, cuz the final boss of that dungeon was a blessed sibling as well. I think it's in one of the aether current questlines.
