awesome series is the most unfunny thing I've seen on the internet, down there with Ugandan Knuckles

I've only ever seen clips of older Game Grumps episodes, but no matter who the partner is I can't think of a single time Arin being there made the moments better. Maybe I just haven't seen enough of his solo content, but he feels like someone who has managed to continue to fail upward by drawing in better personalities to play with who elevate his content for him.

I would say that in the first year, Arin was definitely the better of the two, because the show made it painfully clear that Jon was awful at non-scripted comedy.

I dropped off the GameGrumps train shortly after Arin added that streak of color to his hair and on his Grump avatar. They just weren't playing games I really cared all that much about anymore. I'm still subbed to them, but whenever I see an upload in my feed I'm just like, "damn, shit's changed".

I love Game Grumps and Arin Hanson wholeheartedly.

I never watched GameGrumps but Im a huge fan of the Sequelitis videos he did.

Remember when some idiot on their team told them to make their video titles and thumbnails as vague as possible so nobody knew what game (if any) was being played and we'd just get stuff like Dan's face on a black background and the title "Dan suffers"?

Yeah it was getting pretty bad before then (like I said, the Danganronpa 2 series was painful to watch through), but that was when I finally unsubscribed.

Yeah it had to do with them chasing some weird algorithm thing that rewarded clickbait, but they stopped doing that.

I also miss when 10 Minute Power Hour was them doing an art project or playing some weird obscure board game, instead of just Arin being as gross as possible while eating food and Dan sitting off to the side saying he can't/won't eat it. Or sorting things into a tier list.

I've not really felt like watching game grumps since I found out they had some connection to a member of Oney Plays almost killing themselves. It's never been revealed to what extent they were involved but it made me not really comfortable watching Game Grumps anymore. Same with Super Mega who were also involved. I just stick to Oney Plays now

That was all related to Dream Daddy, wasn't it? IIRC Ding Dong and/or Julian said they were uncomfortable with a team of mostly straight people making a gay dating sim, and rather than adjust/expand the team or take any of their concerns on board they got doxxed?

I will say I've been tempted by their RE8 series, but I'm not convinced they're actually going to finish it. I get the idea they're just playing for Alcina

Seems like they might finish it, one of their marketing guys said that it would be going until mid-July before they start Danganronpa V3.

Yeah I'm kinda interested to see how they'll react. Arin will probably definitely hate it, Dan seems to be more receptive to DR's BS, lol.

I enjoyed GG when it was Arin and Jon, with Barry editing. After Jon left I didn't bother following him to where he went next (which I'm glad for, looking back at the jackass now), and I lost interest in GG. Dan seemed likeable enough, but with Jon gone Arin had to be the "chaotic" one, and he just doesn't have it. I also saw it going more and more "businessy", so bleh.

I got into Oney Plays and that's been more enjoyable than Grumps ever was, imo. And after the drama around Ding Dong/Julian/Dream Daddy (I didn't pay much attention, but I saw this and that), any residual fondness I may have had for GG (and Arin specifically) evaporated.

Eh I think he's fine overall. I mostly only watch their 10MPH stuff more than anything else these days but I will watch a Game Grumps episode every now and again if the game they're playing interests me.

Like most though, I do get extremely frustrated at time with his inability to play games competently. I get neither Arin or Dan are particularly great at video games but damn does he suck something fierce sometimes when he plays games (there's definitely a penis joke in there lol)

Jons early solo videos were quite good. I quite liked his Zoo Race and Are You Afraid Of The Dark videos. Then he went away for a few years then came back to do a bunch of forgettable junk videos.

Jon's not even doing any kind of review or commentary videos anymore, is he? Last I checked in on his channel it seemed like he had turned into a reaction channel where he just does something like watch an infomercial and say "that was dumb, here's the next one"

Some of Jon's best stuff is his new stuff imo. Old stuff is great, but he's gotten better over time.

I've never forgiven him for not making the final episode of Girl-chan in Paradise.

When he was Egoraptor he was funny, but I can't even process how anyone would find GG funny unless it was an edit of highlights or something

Egoraptor had scripted, edited in jokes, but GG is watching people playing a videogame and improvising and forcing oneliners; because of that format, maybe one in 40 lines can be funny, but you'd have to sit in between funny comments. Doesn't make sense at all to me how such a fomat appeals to anyone

He's fine but Dan really makes the channel shine.

I've loved it for years. Not every line is a hit, but it's not just about the specific jokes. It's kind of a vibes thing in the long run. The more you watch, the more you get to know their personalities, preferences, etc., the funnier things become. Like building up a bunch of in jokes and layered references.

Then there are moments that are just individually hilarious.

Ive found that the more he is the forefront of something the more insufferable he gets. If hes just in something and not the focus he can be ok, but game grumps is dreadful

I dont think Ill ever forget their majoras mask lp where hes acting weird for like 5 episodes and then he just throws a total tantrum about the game and people expecting him to like it for like 20 minutes straight. It was maybe the most childish thing Ive ever seen on a YouTube channel mainly devoted to making kids laugh with fart jokes

I watched GG a fair bit a few years ago, enough to get a good feel for Arin and Dan. I don't really care for Arin. I know they're called "grumps" but something about his attitude just seems a little too genuinely nasty to me lol.

I only watched some bits of Game Grumps. Sonic 2k6 and Nickelodean Guts were the best but after Danny replaced Jon it became.....lukewarm? I dunno, something felt missing after that.

Man, I still remember the awkwardness of the Guts episode where Jon figured out how to play one of the challenges that Arin couldn't. Super uncomfortable.

He hasn't really been a "cartoonist" in like 11 years. If it wasn't for his shitty video game band, he wouldn't have any animations on his channel (and he only story boarded those ones, because Studio Yotta animated them for him) in that time frame. I mean there is his lamentable Pilot that wouldn't be picked up on any network because it isn't funny.

The thing is he wants to be a professional voice actor, and he kinda isn't good enough to get roles without friends or his notoriety. The last big one was the Borderlands 3 DLC. And after that, Max in Reboot Camp and the Monster Hunter Sunbreak DLC with a bunch of stupid Game Grumps memes in his dialogue.

He sounds like he didn't have anyone giving him good direction in Advance Wars either. Just the flattest, laziest takes.

I used to watch GG pretty much daily for a year or two, but honestly I never much cared for Arin. He was only kind of funny at his best and just insufferable when he gets into a bad mood. It's not that he's that bad at games, it's just his pigheaded refusal to learn anything from the game or his experience playing it that always gets him whining. I really don't mind watching someone fail because they're unskilled. It's kind of cool seeing people struggle at things and eventually overcome them. But watching someone fail over and over because they refuse to listen to what the game's telling him is just frustrating, especially when the player's so obnoxious too.

Eventually I was watching more out of habit than anything, so when that little scandal about Dan came out some years ago I just lost all interest. It's not that it was that bad from what I heard about it, but knowing that Dan is kind of a creep tainted the last thing I still enjoyed about it.

Ill give my views to anyone who makes good content worth watching.

Im just not going to avoid watching something I want to watch and would enjoy watching just because the creator said something bad on Twitter.

I liked some of Arin's early flash animations on newgrounds ~20 years ago, but I've not liked anything he's done since, at least not the parts he stood for

JonTron was the only person I found funny on Game Grumps and I unsubscribed to Game Grumps a short time after he left
I gave the new guy a chance but when he turned out to be as painfully unfunny, and deeply unlikable as a person, like Arin and the rest of the Game Grumps crew, the choice was made for me

over the many years that've followed, Arin and the regular Game Grumps crew have time and time again had scandals surrounding them and proven themselves to be a genuinely awful group of people

I'm glad I got out early and didn't support them longer than I did
