I like Ahsoka and Kenobi and hate boring slogs like Andor. How did you get those so backwards? Ahsoka and Kenobi are entertainment and Andor is literally board meetings and Syril crying into his cereal as he constantly disappoints his mother. At first I thought I liked it, as a grittier, more adult Star Wars, but then it was long, tedious meetings I wasn't getting paid for attending and intimate training on building widget flanges.

Most of the people bitching about it are dips who know shit about SW. Aside from a certain complaint about the main character I haven't seen any actual legitimate complaints that weren't bitching about shit that have been in Star Wars for decades.

If Ahsoka and Kenobi are shit at the bottom of your garbage can and Andor is a 5 star meal at a Michelin star restaurant, Acolyte is like a margarita and an entree at Applebees.

I've come to the point where I don't trust anybody's opinion about Star Wars content other than my own. So many people are geared up to hate every single release, no matter its quality.

I've liked every Star Wars show I've watched, and I've watched all of the live action D+ shows except Andor. I also have no interest in watching Andor because the few clips I've seen of it have bored me.

Sorry Acolyte is nowhere near as bad as Discovery is. Acolyte is pretty Damm good. Way better then Andor at least.

There's clearly a massive amount of racist homophobes review bombing, and that's the vast majority of bad reviews. That's not to deflect from any legitimate criticism, but denying it's a significant component of the hate is silly

I like the Acolyte. People mad at it and Star Wars as a whole for "going woke" are pathetic shit people.

That said, while I disagree with it being weaponized by chuds, the "according to Disney" is a extremely valid thing to note about the show's success. You should not accept viewership metrics from a streaming platform at face value. It's basically corporate "trust us, bro".

In several weeks we'll get the Nielsen streaming numbers. It's not a perfect system as it's still in relative infancy but it is at least third party and a lot more trustworthy than a PR statement from Disney.

The only thing I can think of is that it's the people that the Prequels were their SW as kids, so they prefer that flat line delivery, awkward editing, plain camera work, and hokey fight choreography. The Acolyte is very reminiscent of the production style of the PT, so when something that's genuinely mature, tense, dramatic, methodical, well crafted, well shot, well written, and well acted like Andor is, of course they're going to claim that's it's boring.

I love the person who brought up Dr. Who..LOL So Dr. Who , who you guys complained about too is rocking as well. Oh no.

First 2 episodes were fun enough for me to keep checking it out. I didn't get that same vibe with Kenobi, for instance though, and never finished it. Andor is absolute top tier and I like both Mando and Ahsoka well enough.

Star Wars fans upset? Golly, what a rare event.

The Acolyte is solid so far. Going to take some time to see how it shapes up overall.

And let's face it: when you have that type of review bombing, it's safe to assume that half the reviews come from people who never even watched it.

Im not a Star Wars fan, but Andor was very enjoyable. I heard all the other shows that werent The Mandalorian, were-mid-to-bad so I didnt watch them aside from the first episode of the Book of Boba Fett (everyone said it didnt get better).

If I liked Andor, what are the odds Ill The Acolyte?

I have absolutely zero problems with what I've seen of the game itself.

my problem with the acolyte is it feels like Im watching a high budget nickelodeon show.

I hope it improves but something just feels off with it. I dont think it will be worse than book of boba fett or kenobi( the last episode ruined it for me and it had everything to do with kenobi and vader).

Andor is near perfection, Ashoka was good Mando is hit and miss. Book of Boba is lol what. That whole finale fight with vader and kenobi was so fucking cw I cant stand it.

Yeah, I think it's funny all the Kenobi lovers are out in force in this thread. Usually liking Andor and not liking the other shows so much is the common opinion that shows up.

I personally think Andor was the best show they put out so far, but I don't hate the other ones either.

The best example of this is when Venom came out, and one of the big audience reviews I read on RT was something like "The first 45 minutes were pretty boring but the rest was good. Fuck the critics 5/5."
