Maybe y'all are right, except for the fact that it's common knowledge that stormfront made that place their target for recruiting more neo-nazis. it seems to have gotten worse on boards where that shit used to be moderated, the blue boards.

I wouldn't be surprised if the branding of it being the "racist" site has just made it a racism loop that just will naturally attract racists to a space that will accept them when the rest of the internet has banished them to the shadows where they belong.

It has gotten moreso since Trump. We call them Election Tourists and they aren't welcome in most places. Moderation happens but they are lazy and since Hiro doesn't take nearly as much of an active hand in the operation of the site as Moot did it's kinda run away to be honest.

i feel like /v/ has been taken over by Bots, right wing recruiters and 2016 newbies who never left after realizing they could post edgy things without getting thrown off the site. /v/ in particular is really obvious about it, the only games they care about there are ones they can make into a culture war then move on to the next, first it was Stella Blade then that came and went so they went to Paper Mario, in a few weeks they'll probably be overrun with Indigo Park vs Poppy Playtime topics

It's always been racist but I'd say it became a lot more organized in the late 2010s. /pol/ was a big factor. It went from being unthoughtfully and casually racist to being very efforted in being as racist as humanly possible.

It sucks because a lot of boards lacked this issue but it's all ruined now so even beyond the biggest issue of the website being deeply degenerate, even its few interesting corners have been consumed by culture war slop.

It actually is worse than it used to be

4chan used to have some really awful containment boards + a bunch of other actual interest boards where you could actually talk with people in normal ways about normal things (albeit rather rude + casually racist people). At some point in the past, I don't know exactly when, the containment boards sorta overflowed into the rest of the site and it really did get worse
