Current Events > 5 years, 1 week later, were you ultimately disappointed by Game of Thrones?

Honestly, yeah. Im not going to bemoan or belabor the point, but long story short I went from being quite interested in Game of Thrones to just flat out not being interested in it at all. Havent been interested in watching House of the Dragon, and even the rumored Jon Snow and the Wildlings sequel that gets rumored every now and then doesnt peak my interest when that was my jam for a while.

Honestly, the whole "Everybody stopped talking about GoT as soon as it ended" thing is pretty ironic, given that people only say it in the middle of discussions where people are talking about GoT in the first place.

Honestly the actual way it ended was fine. All the character endings made sense IMO. The problem is how much they rushed getting there. For example Dany was always gonna snap, but they didnt do a good job building it up.

Other than the seasons being rushed, the only other gripe I had is the way they ended the white walkers so abruptly. I was really expecting to see an epic battle with them at Kings Landing.

Overall, I still think GoT is an amazing show. It had so much great character development and memorable moments in the first 6 seasons. The last two seasons definitely shouldve been stretched over 3 10-episode seasons IMO, but I thought the actual ending itself was fine and didnt ruin the show as a whole.

This pretty much sums up how I feel about the show.

Finished just this second. Some parts of season 8 were a bit sloppy but overall it was a fine conclusion. Honestly I think season 6 was a bit weaker. They had just run out of books and they were really treading water while they figured out where the story was supposed to go. It's just another huge example of impotent nerd rage to throw on the pile right next to Star Wars.
