But Cait is a real name, it's an Irish name (shortened from Caitlan) and means "pure".
I don't know how the game pronounces it, never got far in FF7 and only know about the character existing. Listening to the actual Irish pronunciation it does sound sorta like cat, more like "cot" with a hard (soft?) o. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0on_yiu9sA I always assumed they pronounced it as "Kate" having never heard his name said in the game. --- My metal band, Ivory King, has 2 songs out now - allmylinks.com/ivorykingtx (all of our links there so you can choose which one you'd prefer to use) ... Same reason why English dub voice actors always and I mean always say peoples names and stuff in different ways.
