For being incompetent and bending over for conservatives left and right whilst also targeting Democrats with BS just to smear them even though they will eventually be cleared. Sitting on his hands when it comes to handling Trump. If it weren't for Jack Smith, Trump likely would have never faced any potential consequences for any of his actions. And even then, Garland dragged his feet. But when it came to going after Biden, he was very quick to act.

The very tapes that Republicans want right now were from the investigation that Garland sprung into action against Biden for his "handling of classified documents" which doesn't come close to anything Trump did. Garland then chose a deeply corrupt Trump appointee as Special Counsel to investigate Biden, and the guy wrote a disgustingly partisan report attacking Biden with all of the bullshit Republican talking points about Biden. Then concluded with "no charges should be filed, because he's an old feeble man who would be sympathetic to the jury."

For the record, Biden looked for and turned in documents to NARA(from his time as VP) without them requesting any, to show Trump how it's done. Pence said he didn't have any, but then his lawyer "found" some at Pence's private residence in Indiana. Biden got a Special Prosecutor for it. Pence did not.

Because he was chosen by Obama. They don't trust anyone associated with Democrats, regardless of the fact that Garland had received unanimous Republican approval before Obama picked him.

Obama just picked him to make the GOP look unreasonable for rejecting a nominee who was previously everything they wanted, just to deny the other party another confirmation.

They probably assumed he'd be aggressive towards the GOP for costing him a Supreme Court seat. Thing is Garland knew he probably wasn't even going to be nominated for the SC if Obama thought he had any real chance of getting a nominee through the Senate at that point.

Naw he picked this guy hoping Republicans would push him thru. Making the Republicans look unreasonable doesn't help here. Since this was guy people on who for Democrat did not like. Obama was targeting centrists. He was hoping the GOP being absurd would help turn them off.

Obama's strategy was always roping in Democrats, youths, and progressives with his force of personality and bold talk while tailoring his actual political actions (VP pick, adaption of moderate Republican legislation, compromises with McConnell, etc.) towards winning over swing voters.

Unfortunately in 2016 he wasn't the candidate, someone far less charismatic and trustworthy than him was, so none of this actually worked on the right people and we were just left with the crap political moves.
