They save his job and he immediately talks shit about them, reneges on his agreements, and is now at Trump's trial defending him.

I'm so sick of the Lucy with the football trope being repeated. There is no such thing as a good or even decent Republican in Congress. They will ALWAYS stab Dems in the back after they save their ass. It's sickening that we're watching McCarthy 2.0 and nothing was learned.

I wonder if Greene and the right-wing domestic terrorist fascists would join the Dems in removing him.

There's only 8 months or so Republicans would even still be in charge. Let them spend that time bickering over appointing a new Speaker.

It's likely they have some kind of plan to further divide the House GOP.

He couldn't get voted in last time. Jordan desperately tried to get voted in after McCarthy and was basically laughed out of the running because he could never manage to sure up enough votes; in reality he's not very well liked. We got Johnson because he's a true-blue Christo-fascist that basically nobody knew about except their party, so they snuck him onto the American people and since then we've all been learning about him.

I'm sure there's plenty more, but the more time they spend doing that the less they have with our fucking Speaker of the House attending a criminal trial for a former POTUS defending his criminality.

Keep in mind a few of the more reasonable (relatively speaking) Republicans have since resigned since that vote, so there's less opposition to a MAGA lickspittle like Jordan.

I'd have to go back to the time he gave up, however I seem to recall he was like 16-25 short of what he needed to win the Speakership. There haven't been that many who have left since then. I could be wrong about those numbers, of course, I just remember that it was double digits, at the very least.
