wtf

apparently i can't share youtube links for the games i was going to bring up so that's cool. (edit, nvm lol)

anyway i'm going to try jogging my memory on what ones i brought up during the snes topic or wherever they were since i edited them into a message at the time and therefore (site i realised was actually the cause of the message not getting accepted) doesn't have it. pretty sure i was only looking at regular wonderswan games at the time though so i probably won't actually vote for them

https://youtu.be/6bTcYlCk410 it is still insane that they managed to put a perfect (besides being monochrome) port of clock tower on it

https://youtu.be/K_FP4W9_Wm8
https://youtu.be/QGxguaoigkY
there's always that argument of smoke and mirrors when it comes to games like this, and it's obviously no secret that the reason these look this detailed is because they converted photos frame by frame for this, but making even something like that possible here is a real technical feat

https://youtu.be/7B4Ds-Z0SuE
https://youtu.be/m15jq1e23lg
these may not look very impressive, but rhythm games with precise timing really don't feel like they SHOULD be possible on a handheld like this, so the fact that they pulled it off absolutely is to me

anyway i guess i'll post color games i've played (and more often than not also own) and like

It's weird to me that this game has become considerably more obscure over the past decade or so when it used to be arguably bigger than judgement silversword. anyway this game was competitive even with gba titles of the time, with very smooth gameplay. It doesn't really feel like a super compelling pick, but it's solid!

15 years ago or so especially i was way into one piece, and that was also when i got interested in the wonderswan, so it was almost a given i'd pick this up, especially since i already had some familiarity with the one piece grand battle series (which this is a spinoff to). I'm biased, but I felt like this had to be one of the best fighting games on the system, it was quite satisfying to control

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwJa02b7Guk
at the time, i felt it was kind of insane that something like this was on there. of course, i wasn't terribly aware of just how many bullet hells were actually on comparable hardware at the time, so it's somewhat less so now

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjyId3GBsyE
i just like x ok. also the console itself didn't do a very good job of conveying this that well, but this soundtrack is great lol

this was not a very advanced wsc game, i'll be honest. i liked it though, wish this ever came back like front mission has lately (it's effectively a spinoff, albeit with a unique setting and gameplay)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_8eChLdfHs
yeah the answer absolutely isn't this but obviously i like the game though, as the effective origin of the namco x capcom/project x zone series

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bz87QtLj7D0
am i biased? absolutely. but it WAS an exceptionally well made rpg for the handheld. in some regards, there are elements in this version i don't think were ever bested in ANY of the releases since

needless to say, i don't think these ones specifically would actually get my vote either, so i guess i'll pick something i haven't played...

okay what the heck one of the other one piece games on wsc was a mystery dungeon clone with beat-em-up combat??? i want that now... (don't say roguelite don't say roguelite don't sa-)

the board games look cool too... i wonder why i never considered getting them before now

what the heck there's even a puyo puyo clone with mahjong tiles that's so cool

anyway uhhhhhhhh

on second thought i actually think i WILL vote for X: Card of Fate lol (it's better than it looks in the video i provided before)

I don't think I had ever heard music from a Wonderswan Color game before, but the soundfont kinda kicks ass? Something about it is very unique and interesting to me.
