At its worst games looked like a step down from the Dreamcast and at its best games looked on-par with earlier PS2 games. That's still a win. If your only criticism is "it doesn't have the same power as a console the size of a suitcase" then yeah you are right but that's not why I bought a switch. I bought a switch for the games and haven't been disappointed.
