That's not what the discussion was about, though? She initially stated Mags did everything he could to work with the U.N. but he didn't actually do anything. He just didn't kill them and left. That was it.

And yet you ignore the fact that a lot of the time Magneto puts peoples lives who werent even involved in the other terrorist plans to
kill mutants. His way only serves to create a larger divide between Humans and Mutants.

I am binge watching it. I'd say it's decent, but quality of the writing vary a lot from one episode to another

Some lines are a little cringy at time, but I'd say by "kid shows" standard we had pretty "mature" storyline.

I do get many allegories that I did not get as a kid though and this part is nice.

Yeah because bigotry is really stupid because despite our differences we are all human.

The X-Men universe is also stupid but the difference between Humans and Amira is pretty fucking evident as we as humans dont have access to mind control people or lift cars to throw at each other. Its more a matter of hypocrisy in that universe more then anything else.

Peaceful protesting never really accomplished anything.

The older I get, the more justified Magneto seems. Peaceful, non-disruptive protests are a waste of time at best and an exercise in painting a target on yourself at worst.

I'm a bit ambivalent on political violence, both in fiction and real life. On the one hand, it's probably not the sort of thing we should encourage if we want a stable society (and if you ever did get a discrimination free world, one imagines you'd want it stable). On the other hand, if your ability to live a vaguely healthy and happy life is consistently under threat from the powers that be, forcefully removing the power from them, regardless of method, certainly seems wiser than begging (and that's all a peaceful protest ultimately is: whiny, incessant begging that wears the mask of aggressive, indignant demands in a vain hope to seem more dignified than it actually is) for your oppressors to be a little nicer.

Frankly, its a mark of impeccable restraint that Magneto didn't level the entire planet as soon as the first sentinel was built.

That reminds me of a chilling alternative history short story I read long ago. In it, the Nazis had won WWII and were faced with Ghandi's movement in India. The Nazi solution to this problem was simply to murder all the protestors indiscriminately. It was a very short story.

That brings into sharp relief the point that peaceful protest can only work in a society that is civilized enough to avoid the simple expedient of murdering protestors until "peace is restored".

IMO that needs to be the bargain -- terrorism can't be justified vs. a regime that makes peaceful reform possible, while a regime that makes peaceful reform impossible is basically asking for all the shit it will get.

Come on you are a smart person. Clearly you can understand implication and inferences. You agree with Magneto. That's what Magneto wants to do so you agree with his solution. It's not rocket science. You don't actually have to literal verbally say something to mean it.

Also, you can just simply say "no I don't believe that" if my question against you. It's very relevant to the argument as where talking about Magneto and his way of thinking and considering it right our wrong.

Is it bad to say that although what Magneto did was wrong, in his position I'd probably do the same thing.
