I think I see it. E13 is black's first move. If white plays D13 black plays D12 and capturing just gives white a false eye.

If white plays D12, black plays D13. Then if white plays C13, black plays C12 and when white captures, black throws in at D13 to ruin white's second eye.

White's other try after black's D13 is C12, putting two black stones in atari. Here black just plays C13, connecting. If white takes the stones, black recaptures at C11 and white is dead.

If white runs with H13, black plays K12 and white won't get out.
