It depends on the burger. Up here in Canada we have a brand called Sunrise which are essentially Mcdonalds patties, and they are fine with nothing on them. But most of the time I go Ketchup, Mustard, Daves Sweet n' Spicy Pickle Chips, Cheese slices, Spicy Cheese powder. I might mix in a little Greek Yogurt with the Ketchup/Mustard just to make it more filling, but not always.

Almost all burgers should have cheese. It has to have a lot of other toppings for cheese to fail to be a straight upgrade. Getting a burger without cheese is a failure.

Mayo is a downgrade to most burgers though. It has to pair with specific other toppings, otherwise mayo is a downgrade. At the very least it needs lettuce and tomato, an a toasted bun (or roll if it's a cheeseburger sub).

Cheese and barbeque sauce are the only things any burger really needs, though onions and jalapeno peppers are also welcome. Lettuce, tomato and pickles can fuck off.

i dont each cheese and i love veggies. that said, a burger without any 'sauce' would probably be a little dry, even with nice juicy tomatoes.

I order burgers without condiments all the time. I'm picky and I add my own ketchup after getting the burger. I've never ordered one without cheese though. I love cheese

I do burgers w/o a bun, but if you're not using normal burger toppings, you're just making hamburg steak.

I generally buy the Rastellis Chuck & short rib burgers from Costco. Those taste wonderful without anything on them. But even at Costco they are not exactly cheap.

I have never and will never understand why anyone would ruin a good burger with a bunch of garbage on it. I've accidentally gotten that in my mouth in past and had to spit it out immediately.

The perfect burger is simple, I'm amazed anyone could get it wrong even by mistake, it's just bottom bun, the burger, top bun, that's literally it, anything added instantly makes it garbage and that goes directly into the trash.

My father eats them without anything but bun and meat. His orders always get screwed up. It is really hard to just order them plain.

basically, I have a meat grinder so every now and then I'll buy steaks at the local butcher and then grind those into ground beef. the meat is so good that it doesn't need any seasoning or condiments. it's perfect, also it's the only time i'll eat burgers rare cus I usually make them the day that I buy the steaks.

it's kinda pricey so I don't do it too often. I can get 2lbs of ground chuck for like $7, versus just under $10 per pound for the steak.

that reminds me of the burger guy from popeye. all the burgers he eats are hella plain.

but somehow they always look so delicious. i always want a bunch of plain burgers after watching one of those episodes.
