They will complain about the little guy getting messed over . Then do everything they can to support big business; even when they are messing over other little guys. Then scream for deregulation...when we literally know what happens when big business isn't regulated. And oddly they love talking about history yet some how skipped that part. And i am not just ranting like want to know what drives these ppl. Besides racism and other bigotry.

Edit to add. While I am at it. How they love the police too. They complain about government over reach and lack the boot of government agents with guns who wipe their asses with the constitution every week. But they love them. But a ficking case worker helping poor people ..stop that commie.

A lot of it is boiled down to the uber rich feeding into people's insecurities and getting them believing that it's not THEIR fault they are poor it's because *insert minority or group here* and if they just oppose them they will soon be rich too, and so obviously you don't want to do anything to make rich people less rich because that will soon have an impact on YOU!

Is this really true anymore? I mean older establishment Republicans probably still believe in big business in some kind of misguided Regan-era small government sense but I feel like a lot of younger Republicans have gone the Trumpian populist route and are very adversarial to big business, especially big business that ship manufacturing to China. Younger Republicans like Josh Hawley and JD Vance seem to be trying to realign with labor unions again as well. Republicans are also absolutely against Big Tech which they feel have censored on behalf of power centers and abandoned them culturally.

Tech is one of the only industries that they want regulated because they think getting modded for racism is evil. They jump on aboard the X train when that literal Nazi enabler took control. And they see other people in tech who are not salt of the earth and they get upset.

Because Republicans, no matter how rich or poor they are, are massive cucks for authority and wealth.

They're poor because they work for those businesses (or other businesses which depend on the big ones) which subject them to constant brainwashing that they'll be fired if regulations are passed.

To the average person, climate doesn't really matter if you can't feed your family so you get all this Republican shilling for oil and coal.

Because the lives of authoritarians (including, but not at all limited to the Republicans) revolve entirely around doing two things:

  1. Sucking up to those deemed "higher" than themselves in the hierarchy
  2. Punching down toward those deemed "lower" than themselves in the hierarchy
