At least we don't get red ring of death? (Xbox)

At least we don't get yellow light of death? (Playstation)

The big 3 as it were. Is hardware failure a thing of the past or just more subtle?

I got bsod a few weeks ago (maybe back in jan) tbh.

It was scary. I think related to a copy of monkey island 2 that I downloaded n installed

Idr why i think this but it made sense to me at the time

My laptop recently had a string of BSODs that ended up as a precursor to the hard drives dying, so I wouldn't say hardware failure has stopped or become more subtle.

I remember our Win95 computer would bluescreen saying the computer was busy after about 2-4 hours of use, then after letting you back to Windows would bluescreen again saying it was unstable. Every time.

Only computer I ever had that would consistently bluescreen.

bsod is still a thing, it's just like 30x less useful now

Not nearly as bad, but I noticed that PS5 takes forever to deal with crash errors unless it's online. It generates a crash report that it asks if you want to send when it's online in a few seconds or less, but when I'm not at home or turned off wi-fi it takes about a minute of hanging, you can't exit the process with the home button on the controller or anything else.

Well 360 and PS3 have been my only consoles to have died. The switch started overheating and just had to change the fan, but this is after 6 1/2 years.
