I think I prefer and hope for Big Crunch because it feels like it would have a higher chance of leading into a 2nd Big Bang and a new universe

Same, Big Crunch just feel like a reset from the way its explained and theorized to be.

So, if that is true, from our perspective, when we die, we are instantly born again. But have no memory of the life we led a universe ago. That'd be wild.

iirc it's been pretty well known for a while now that the universe is accelerating. Whether that results in a "Big Rip" where the laws of physics start upending themselves I have no idea.

Failing that, entropy will win sooner or later. Big Crunch has been pretty firmly ruled out, but I'm not skilled enough at science to explain precisely why. Something about the type of "stuff" in the universe rapidly becoming dark energy dominant instead of matter / energy dominant.

There will be a chorus of screeching as all the Universe becomes a record of information for everything else until all become one; neatly folded, then condensed and congealed into a torus loop of nothing.

I don't have a strong enough understanding of exactly how the universe works to have a real idea as to how it'll end.

My understanding is that the current leading theories are either the big crunch or heat death but I'm pretty sure even the people who came up with those theories will be the first to tell you that they don't really know.

I have no evidence but just my imagination as food for thought. I think it works like a hourglass. Think of it like a rubber band in that same space. When the "sand" runs out it contracts and "pours" out the other side. A endless loop.

You would need a massive amount of mass being created currently and I dont recall seeing much evidence of that. If you believe in thermodynamics and even mildly in some parts of evolution I dont see why any conclusion other than an eventual Big Crunch would be the endgame.

Well we are made up of matter. The same matter that formed the oldest stars in the universe. So after an n'th amount of time it would not be surprising that our matter will eventually comprise of different life forms uncountable eons from now.

The Big Crunch is a hypothetical scenario for the ultimate fate of the universe, in which the expansion of the universe eventually reverses and the universe recollapses, ultimately causing the cosmic scale factor to reach zero, an event potentially followed by a reformation of the universe starting with another Big Bang. Like I said earlier. Dark Energy is causing the universe to continually accelerate. This will result in all things in the universe growing farther apart until the universe grows dark outside of isolated star clusters / galaxies. When those die, they won't reform into new stars; or if they do they'll only make smaller and smaller stars until there is not enough mass left in the system for new stars to be born. (Note: Heavy elements like iron is actually "poisonous" to stars, this makes every new star have a harder time getting going as the more heavy elements there are in an area the more likely you are to get a failed star. Ie. Brown Dwarf) That residual matter will steadily break down due to various natural forces and radiation and eventually we'll be left with nothing but stray electrons and other fundamental particles, before those too probably quantum tunnel themselves out of existence.

Anyone talking about Big Crunch or Big Bounce hasn't been paying much attention to science for the past 20 years. Dark Energy and Eternal Expansion / Entropy have been widely regarded as the most likely fate of our universe since 2003. Big Bounce (the idea that we're constantly expanding and contracting) was thrown out in like the 80s. Apparently there are some theories which still work around theories of Big Bounce / Crunch, but they're not mainstream or readily accepted ideas.

As with everything there's always a chance for this science to be wrong. Maybe our ultimate fate will be a Big Crunch. But the evidence we have and our current understanding all points towards either a Big Rip or a Big Chill.

You're also completely backwards? More mass being introduced to the universe would encourage the big crunch. Mass has gravity, which pulls things together not pushes them apart. More mass being fabricated in the universe somehow would act as a decelerator.

It kind of baffles me how confidently wrong you were about so many different subjects there all at once.

Can't really say, but everything in it would be gone. Either reduced to electrons and neutrinos or gone gone. Without any observers it'd be about the same either way.

White Holes though theoretical at this point, can theoretically exist. Many suspect the big bang was the product of a white hole.

Heat death. Eventually the universe will fade to black. Kinda depressing to think about. Seems like wasted potential.

Vacuum tunneling.

Heat death, followed by the birth of a new universe in the vacuum due to random quantum fluctuations on a time scale so obscenely far into the future that we have no meaningful way of even displaying the number of years.

Imagine completely filling the observable universe with sand, and then counting all of those individual grains of sand, and having each sand particle counted equal to a year. Once you count up all of those sands/years, even thats just a blink of the eye by comparison.

Oh, and we are in a repeating process where this has been repeated an equally near infinite number of times already.

It'll probably get eaten by a dinosaur.

If you have heat death, the remaining mass would fall back towards itself. These are all theories and the newer ones get replaced every few years. Dark energy is just a moniker to cover the fact that the math of the current expansion of the observable universe isnt mathing. We still dont actually understand everything, believe it or not.

These are all theories, but if the universe is a closed system then it should still follow the laws of thermodynamics (within reason). I dont think theres a point to discussing this stuff if youre gonna Google search stuff and esteem more value to current theories just because they are popular. Really most theories have value because thats how we learn. Its not a popularity contest.

its not. theres an extremely advanced species out there and they are just getting even more advanced as we speak. they are currently preserving everything on their own solar system and soon, the galaxy and then the universe. hopefully they discover us before earth is destroyed.

if there really is a super advanced species out there that is capable of intergalactic travel, i'd say chances are better that they aren't preserving anything but exploited and consuming everything
