Has there ever been a time in a movie/game/TV show where a villain said something that basically made you go "...I mean, they're not wrong"? Putting aside their own evil actions of course.

Every time the horror monster kills teenagers after having premarital sex.

Any well-written villain will do that, tbh. They use legitimate grievances as a way to galvanize the masses into a cult-like following for their own horrible ends.

Caesar from New Vegas immediately springs to mind.

The babe that beat the shit out of Mark in Invincible s2 was right about humanity.

Her solution wasn't entirely right itself, but her description and admonishment of Mark were right.

Lilo and Stitch. they were literally just trying to protect the universe from a dangerous experiment.

Magneto, based on his experiences and what we see about other mutant's experiences, has a point.

Plenty of villains have a point.

They just shouldn't be trying to take over the world or kill superheroes or resurrect ancient evils and stuff just because they're mad about it.

Killmonger. Like people wrongly claims that he just wanted to randomly off people. Now he expressly said he wanted to take out oppressors. To top that off he was the rightful king. He won that and had the blood. Then he is toppled by a western Coup the nation fall apart tlduebto bad leadership.

John Walker he killed a terrorist that just murdered his friend. Objectively Becky and Sam starting a race riot and letting out a mass murder was worst.

Many times robots besides skynet. In the matrix the humans were wrong every step of the way. In mass effect th Qs tried to genocide the Geth. I make sure they die out every game. Because they have the choice to live in peace and they say no.

Knights of the Old Republic 2

Honestly a lot of villains have a good point or good reasoning for the most part. It's only a problem when the solution they arrive at involves killing tons of people.

Like Killmonger (Black Panther) for example. He wanted to use Wakanda's technology to help black people all over the world. Which I think is a great goal. But the problem is that his "help" involved killing tons of non-black people, instead of finding a more peaceful approach like T'Challa wanted.

Or Darth Traya in KotOR 2. She wanted to stop the endless cycle of galactic wars. Which is definitely a good thing, but her solution to basically kill everyone by destroying the force.

if he hadn't turned out to be doing it to manipulate the masses for selfish reasons, Amon in Legend of Korra would have had a point about non-benders being second class citizens

The final antagonist of Persona 5 Royal isn't a villain at all and definitely has good points.

Nah, Killmonger was just angry. He didn't actually care about doing right by anyone. His only motivation was vengeance. Nothing and no one mattered other than enacting vengeance for a life he felt he was owed. The second someone posed as an obstacle to that vengeance he eliminated them.

Cocteau let him out to get rid of Denis Leary and he still didn't do it.

Also, the rehab thing wasn't very good. Spartan was exactly how he was before, except he wanted to knit. Phoenix would still be a crazed killer, except he would want to sing Oscar Meyer Weiner karaoke or whatever.

He's mainly just naive since he didn't bother to check if all his accomplices were on the same page. Most people would just say "no" to holding a city for ransom. If you say "yes", you're probably willing to go through with it.

Outside of some of the ones mentioned in this topic (ESPECIALLY Magneto and Killmonger), Count Dooku had a point about how incredibly corrupt the Republic had become and how the Jedi had lost their way.

Of course, where he goes wrong is aligning with Palpatine.

Youre right, there isnt. The good point was that were a negative impact on our environment. The method however? Absolutely abhorrent.

Same goes for Watchmen really. The method was abhorrent, but the goal was worthy; world peace, uniting against a common enemy.

I consider Killmonger to be fairly justified in his contempt for Wakanda and the leadership that let black populations around the world suffer while they chilled in their technological paradise.

There was an episode of Dial M for Monkey that had a lava monster rage because people were being too noisy. All he was roaring was things like "Please quiet down!"

Psycho Mantis in MGS when he tells Snake that all he sees when he reads people's minds is the desire to pass one's seed and it makes him sick. Next time you are at a place like Walmart picture the majority of people there thinking about doing it and see how your stomach feels.

I love the Royal antag so much. The vanilla boss fight was just a JRPG shibboleth but then HE shows up and suddenly the narrative became interesting again.

The main villain in Big Hero 6 was not only in the right, but it almost seemed to be trying to get you sympathize with the conglomerate he was attacking as much as it was him.

Dunno if I'd go as far as agree, but I could see where Seymour (FFX) was coming from, given the nature of Spira.
