Choo choo mf

I've ridden a few scenic routes but never gone from like one station to the next and disembarked.

From what I've heard about UK train stations, I could arrive at an airport in NY, make it through TSA, get on the plane, take off, fly to Edinburgh, land and arrive at my destination faster than the potential train delays

Yes but the last time I was on a train was in the 90's. I was in the Navy and we had pulled into Naples Italy. We had been there before so I decided I wanted to get on a train and ride for a few hours to my favorite city in the world and go to Rome. So that is what I did. I have done that a couple times we pulled into Naples.

I've used them a few times in the past. They were cheaper than the buses but the stations weren't as conveniently located.

NJ Transit is a common public transportation method in Jersey, has buses and trains. I've taken trains to get to college at Newark Penn and to head to Manhattan at New York Penn. Have ridden the MTA plenty of times. Very affordable, much more than something like Amtrak. Still waiting on Brightline's service from Tampa to Orlando.

Idk what he's talking about unless flying out of Heathrow to Edinburgh is seamless and that cheap. My train ticket wasn't expensive and you just walk onto your train with your stuff. They aren't 3D scanning you and harassing you like the TSA.

But if he is a local and it's not expensive to fly, I would not know as I did not do that.

Ive flown to Edinburgh loads of times, from London, Bristol and Southampton. Its a fraction of the price of the train and you get there much faster.

The cheapest ticket I ever did it on was 18.

Yeah, I used to live in Carbondale and Urbana, so we would take trains up to Chicago and back at least once a year growing up. In Chicagoland itself, been on the L and Metra who knows how many thousands of times.

I live in the (western) US, so I've only used trains when abroad. I took the "chunnel" from London to Paris and back once way back in 2008, and a couple of years ago I took the bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto and back.

I'm not counting smaller trolley/metro systems.
