Whatever the current algorithm is really does suck for finding interesting new content.

The search function in particular is just terrible, you have to scroll through so many random results they just unnecessarily throw in that are completely unrelated to what you're looking for

The trick is generally watching smaller YT channels if you want people actually passionate about gaming rather than riding the grift train. The ratio declines heavily with subscriber count in my experience.

Probably should just play the games and have fun on your own.

Old school Achievement Hunter was like that. Used to love them. Shame how they went downhill.

I was not referring to streamers who just played the games. What you are mentioning is very different from what I used to watch

Yeah, nowadays it's either walkthroughs, metagaming, or whining. You have to really dig for anyone doing anything fun.

Id say there is still tons of that content out there. Probably more now than ever. Just have to get past the algorithm/clout chasing popular channels that just follow the meta.

Youtube fads and in-jokes are certainly harder to come by.
Unfortunately, people don't like those things anymore. They like content now.

I know it probably exist. It's just way harder to find. It's just that when game theory will finish, I'll have 1 less comfort youtuber and 100 more grifters in my search

I still watch GTAOCRP videos and a few channels that mainly play indie horror games.

I hate playing horror games so I watch them do it. The one I watched last night gave me legit jump scares.
