My car has a touch screen, but does not connect to a network.

Idk if it has the tech in it to do so and is disabled cause it's a mid-trim or if it is straight up incapable because it isn't a high enough trim, but yeah.

Personally, don't want a car that does. I'm fine not starting my car from across the planet. <_<

My car (2017) appears to update its navigation system using a cellular network (I'm not sure how else it could), but there is no other network connection, that I can tell. I don't even have it set up to make calls while I'm driving (I've configured my phone as an audio source, not a "phone").

No, mostly because it's too old to have those kinds of features.

That said, while it probably won't be super easy to do, I'd really like to never have a car that does this, or disable the features if possible, because there is absolutely zero reason for that to be a thing.

And yet refrigerators with wifi and TVs on them are a thing somehow.

I'm also not a fan of these. TVs, I can KIND OF see, but some people have like dozens of stupid IoT devices, like an Alexa in every room and smart lightbulbs and smart thermostat. GTFO w/ all of that.

My car is literally older than the SNES. Doubt it has any computers in it.

Cars in the 80s had computers in them.

Mostly sensor suite/internal controls to maintain safe operation , so the most basic of a 'computer' and usually only higher end/performance vehicles.

My car's as basic as they get. Doesn't even have a tachometer despite being a stick shift.

If it was made after '72 it has at least one computer system for emissions.

Nope.

The main car has Bluetooth on the radio and a GPS receiver, but nothing more than that. The backup car has a literal tape deck radio.

No, I don't want anything more than my phone and questionably my TV (tho I'm thinking more and more about using an external dongle for it because the onboard OS is absolutely shit) to be "smart devices"

Shit is a security nightmare

I think you meant '82? Cars still had leaded gas in 1972 and there were no commercial microprocessors yet. Also, I've owned '77 and '79 Pontiacs, and neither had any kind of computers.
