Besides FFX-2, they need to do a prequel 10 years prior to the main storyline with Braska, Jecht, and Auron. Make it a 20-hour paid DLC. I don't care. I've been itching for it. Even though we already know what's gonna happen, it will feel good to be there. Hopefully the same voice actors can do it.

They could make little mini missions as part of picking up those Jecht Spheres. Different points in their journey.

Maybe they can even keep the CTB

I think 10 is fine as it is, yes. I wouldn't object to a side game or dlc to the current HD edition with Jecht & co's journey, though. Just don't Ever Crisis and make it gacha.

But for remakes in general, I don't think Squeenix has confidence that menu based combat can be worth it despite barely making attempts to innovate with it since PS1, and I'd rather not see any more of these games get turned into action combat. So kind of pass in general on them.

Square pulled off amazing turn based combat twice. Once with FFX, and then again with FFX-2... the latter of which is basically Grandia's battle system but with class changing.

it definitely needs a revamp At the very least, give it the Metroid Prime Remastered (on switch) or Xenoblade Definitive Edition treatment.

The game models haven't aged that great and needs a revamp, as well as the environmental texturesn and water. Make it look like the CGI models.

I want the original cast and dialogue. t's not too jarring, but the current HD remasters have issues with the lip synching and are not that factually expressive. Yuna's model especially is a downgrade.

QoL features would be great too. Sphere grid needs to stay. They can do something about enemy encounters. Also speeding up combat would be great.

I'm not digging FFX-2's turn based combat. Enemy auto attacking you every few seconds, and you are forced to attack within a certain time to match up, or you do nothing and they keep chipping damage. It's weird.

The main game is fine. It could use some QoL stuff, but the combat's aged pretty well (even if I don't particularly like it much).

Those HD graphics in the remaster were a travesty, though.

I love it. I think X and X-2 are two different perfect executions of turn based RPG gameplay. X could go as fast or slow as you wanted, and X-2 polished the classic ATB approach.

As someone who's mostly played ATB games, this is just... normal lol. FFX is the odd one out to me in this regard, but it has amazing results.
