I was looking at dumbbells ( that I can't afford) and saw this message.

From what I understand, the CA law on this is ridiculously pedantic and the warnings under it should basically be ignored.

I guess the logic was "if we cast a really wide net, we'll be sure to catch everything we need to catch" but overlooking that if there's too many false positives, the warning becomes meaningless because people won't know when to actually take it seriously.

Either that or it's mandated cover-your-ass.

I work in a warehouse that sometimes gets products with these warning labels, and the products themselves are either various types of metals or rubber belts.

the resin used somewhere in the set likely contains some sort of VOC whose fumes can cause cancer if taken in at very large concentrations and/or duration.

Given the product uses the cured version of the resin, it's mostly a non issue for you. But, if you just-so happen to get cancer, you probably can't successfully sue the dumbbell manufacturer (unless you have a lot of evidence to back you up)
