Will we have state-run news? Are statues of Trump going to be popping up everywhere? Will Republicans be the only party we can vote for, if voting is still a thing?

People always talk about a dystopian future like it's going to be Orwell's 1984. At least then we'd know we were in it right?

I think it's a lot more like Huxley's Brave New World, and we're already in it. You don't need state run media running propaganda when no one cares enough to take the news seriously anymore.

I think it will either look like Russia, with a lifelong president. Or it will look like Saudi Arabia but based on Christian law instead of Islamic

Yeah, the GOP's ideal state (as expressed by their own party) is either Hungary or Russia. Though in actuality, I think in an effort of appeasement to their most extreme base they'd be willing to turn us into a Christian version of Iran.

Would look like corporations handpicking the candidates to maintain the illusion of choice in a never ending cycle of lesser evil voting on politicians no one actually likes.

The GOP has told all of it. Famine from environmental deregulation. Super-soldier religious police. A caste system to ensure child-bearers are pregnant whenever possible. State controlled press devoted to pervasive propaganda.
