Nope, but someone skimmed my debit card at like a Wendy's and purchased $800 worth of shoes or something. Called my bank about it, I had my card in my hand and had no idea where the charge was from. Had to cancel the card and get a new one.

they had a skimmer attached to the card reader. Heard that those skimmer's are like monstrous. so they refunded you the money? reportedly to refund unauthorized debit charges is very difficult

It was like extremely easy to catch him, he wired the money to himself? How did he think he would not be caught, was it like a large amount of money though?

Someone once tried to charge $80 to my debit card at a gas station in Tucson

the bank caught it and stopped it before they could take any of my money though

Never... not that it would do them any good. My card only has access to one of the 4 sub accounts, my bank account is split into. I transfer funds to it when i need to buy something.

Meaning the card doesnt have access to much most of the time, and when it does, it doesnt stay that way for long.

my bank's pretty on top of fraud protection

though it gets annoying whenever I have to call them up when they block an online international transaction

CC? no.

When I went to Kuwait the first time, i didn't even use my debit card at all over there (and certainly not anywhere where it should've been cloned and it wasn't stolen) and within a week i was getting fraudulent charges on my debit card in... Florida <_< a place i hadn't been to in over 7 years at that point

I doubt it had anything to do with having gone to Kuwait and was just happenstance but still

Unless they got it from somewhere online, no.

I had the card with me and I knew better than to use it anywhere overseas. Plus the method of payment on base was with Eagle Cash (a loadable card that you could transfer money to directly from your bank account) so I didn't even have a method to use my debit card as I hadn't, and ultimately didn't, go anywhere off-post.

Strangely, on the flip of that, the second time I went I spent way too much money off-base in Kuwait City and charged to my credit card the entire time and had no strange or fraudulent charges.

Came close.

I was a dummy and put my info in a site I shouldn't have, and it said something like "Incorrect card info. Please try again using a different card."

Well I got an alert for a failed attempt to purchase something, I got a call saying they detected suspicious activity and asked if I was really making that purchase. I said no and they froze the card and I got a new one a few days later.

Asshole site tried like 7 more times to burn through my money, as if once wasn't greedy enough. >_>

Hopefully I'll never repeat such a stupid mistake.

No, but it keeps happening to my dad. I think he's getting tricked by those fake overlay card readers. I tell him to check, but y'know, old people.

Twice. Once shortly after renewing my driver's license and paying by card. It's a hassle to switch any auto pay accounts, but I try to avoid those, anyway. Otherwise, it's painless. And that's intentional, since the credit card companies value making us feel secure over actually making us secure.
