With that kind of order, I'm just going to go to In-n-Out and get a flying dutchman

i used to get triple cheeseburgers plain when i was purely craving only meat and cheese

they were good and hit the spot everytime. it was just a sloppy greasy cheesy burger.

now they're like $8 for just the burger that is not even much bigger than a single hamburger from there, which is also twice the price it should be given that it's thinner than a sheet of paper.

Have they ever actually changed in size? I thought the standard patties were always an eighth of a pound?

I think that was pretty much the order some old-school wrestlers used to make. I think I remember Jim Cornette mentioning that Jesse Ventura would go into a McDonalds or Wendys and order a couple burgers and then eat them without the buns because he wanted protein but not carbs.

and given that big macs use the regular patties, woof

but a lot of it probably has to do with nostalgia as a kid, where just everything seemed bigger in general

I admit I like the triple cheeseburgers but I normally have two double cheeseburgers and medium fries. I can eat the patties without the bun but that seems messy.

That's correct.

The real problem is that they're using a picture from an old commercial... and burgers in commercials today don't look like the burgers you actually get. So comparing an ad from then to reality today is even less likely to be accurate.

What you'd need to do is find a home photo of a random person eating a Big Mac then and compare that to that same person eating one now. It would be the only real 1-to-1 scenario you could possibly get without a time machine.

back then they used just real actual food, especially considering he had to actually bite it

anyways here is the original big mac print ad

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/0/0dc12a8f.jpg

that looks accurate to getting a big mac today, just sloppy looking

compared to what the default big mac image used today looks like

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/e/e17d4f9e.jpg

and compared to a regular image of someones bigmac
