Our household is the poster child of lifestyle creep. We're in something like the top 15% of income for this area and are absolutely buried in debt. We can easily keep up with it but at the cost of much less savings that we should have for this income.

This. I had to vote participation trophy because I don't own a home, even though I have a pretty good job (and a two-person income in household), 401k investments, other investments, and a good amount of money saved in the bank.

Anyone who has a government job Id think? I technically have one but I wont actually get anything from it until I retire in 20+ years.

Anyway by TCs tier Im bronze- own a home (I think this should get me more than bronze lol), about 40k in savings, minimal debt.

I currently have no job and am living off student loans and grants. My net worth is decreasing by $10,000 every 4 months and will continue to do so until the very end of 2025

I've got zero debt but I have zero savings.

I make enough to cover all my bills and responsible shit and then whatever's left I spend on alcohol, records, video games and what not.

Not horrible. I don't make a huge amount of money but I have spending cash. I'm forced to live with my parents due to the ridiculous fees associated with purchasing a property. I can afford a 1500 CAD rental property with money to spare each month, but a 250K home which outside of taxes/insurance costs less than 1300 CAD I can't afford? That makes no sense.

I went bronze, I've been making in the high five figures and have some 401k/pension savings and I usually keep five figures in my bank, money I've set aside for my kids also approaching five figures, but I do have a couple thousand in credit card debt (currently interest free) and I have an auto loan.

Do have a home also, I refinanced in 2020 but I plan to pay off by 2040.

Bronze for now until kid is done with daycare and done with wife's student loans. Once that's done, should move to silver/gold

Gold, except I'm not retiring until late 60s, maybe even later. We are planning for very high educational expenses.

Participation probably. I don't own any property but I don't live paycheck to paycheck, and have a respectable amount of savings while having to pay student loans.

Mine are fine, probably silver since I should have a pension when I retire but I don't have investments. Compared to others my age it's bad, but I was in grad school up until 27 where I didn't have to pay for school but also wasn't able to save much ($30k a year living stipend in Indiana). So I really didn't start making money until 27 and even so I was a contractor (post doc) for 3 years where with the cost of living in the DMV and making sure I had some kind of emergency fund account put me just above even.

Then that got wiped out for a down payment for my home so pretty much started over again at 30. 35 now and I've rebounded from that but yeah I'm a decade behind a lot of people I know when it comes to finances like retirement funds and the size of a saving account. Other friends from grad school either lived with their parents for a considerable amount of time and saved up a ton with income from their jobs, or were married or in long term relationships. That and my family's spending habits bit them in the ass with a vengeance during this time and I've had to financially support them here and there.
