AMC A-List is fantastic if you like going to the movies. $25/month where I live. A premium movie showing is $25 a ticket here, so one movie a month breaks me even.

My household also pays for Max, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Netflix.

Basically none of them. In the long run youll save money on most things by just buying and owning the things you want to consume instead of paying a subscription fee for the rest of your life. There are exceptions to this, like anime, which has always been expensive relative to other shows.

If you buy at least $100 of anime Blu-Rays in a month, Crunchyroll Ultimate or whatever is worth it for the 15% discount that month, but its not like it will save you a ton, it just pays for itself if you buy $100 worth of anime.

$15/month or whatever for a music streaming service will buy you 1 (one) single CD per month. It wont even buy a record unless you shop a sale

Anime is pretty fucking expensive dude. You have to watch like one anime every 3 months to break even in Crunchyroll. It only makes sense to buy Blu-rays if you watch less than that.

Yes, you can use your existing account and you only need the VPN to sign up. After that, you'll never need the VPN again and everything will still be USA based with no ads. You can actually use a VPN to sign up anywhere but Turkey and Argentina are the easiest to actually be able to use your existing payment rather than workarounds (plus other countries might still be expensive)

I have the family plan too, that's actually about $4 a month. It was $3 but the Turkish lira has had some issues and they raised the price back in December. I should note I never had Premium before I signed up this way so you might want to wait a little bit after canceling before attempting just to be safe but there probably wouldn't be any issues.

GeForce Now is possibly worth it depending on a few things.

For 20 bucks a month (at the most expensive), and with a decent internet connection, you can stream a bunch of different games on a virtual PC using a 4080 video card. I was amazed at how well it worked and how great it looked. There was no input lag either. Like it was super impressive. It's good for people who can't afford a gaming PC. 20 bucks a month is a lot more doable than 1200 or more upfront. You do need to own the game though so there is still that cost. I used it for a few months when my old PC wasn't cutting it anymore and I wanted to play some newer stuff. I since built a new PC and don't need this service anymore.

There is a cheaper plan for 10 bucks a month but there is sometimes a queue to get in at that tier.

There is also a free tier but there is always a line to get in and yes, it is free, but it's a pain with the line.

There are a couple issues with the service though. There's an AFK timer that kicks you out after a short period, which I get the need for since they don't want people taking up their machines just to sit AFK forever in a game. The other negative is that it isn't available for every game that is released. Publishers need to opt in and more and more are doing that lately so I'm sure the selection will get better.

Whatever streaming service you like, Netflix, Max, Apple, Prime, whatever else.

Paying the $15 a month for even one of those is cheaper than a cable subscription.

Outside of that, I don't really pay any other subscriptions. I guess Gamepass would be worth it if that's your thing.

  • Nugs - its like Spotify for live music.
  • LivePhish - its like Nugs but just for Phish
  • Max - long time HBO fan. they still make the best content in the business
  • Criterion Channel - best movie selection by far.
  • Netflix - been on the fence about keeping this b/c I don't watch it much these days b/c I find their originals are not very good.
  • AAA - I drive a 2005 so roadside assistance is essential
  • Gamepass - don't use this a lot, tbh

That depends on how much music you buy. Ive bought one album this whole year, so its obviously way cheaper for me.

Just like paying $408 a year for Netflix and Hulu (and this was a couple price increases ago, so it would cost more now) when I barely used them was much more expensive than just buying the things I want to watch (anime aside, as its expensive).

If I wanted to use a streaming service I could just use ReVanced to patch one of the apps and pay nothing.
