This argument has always come across as insulting peoples' intelligence to me. I think the vast, vast majority of people understand that real life sexual activity is different from how it's depicted in most pornography, similar to how people understand that real life violence is different to how it's depicted in films and games.

A bigger problem is we've got now a generation of adults who are basically raised on porn and much less real social interaction.

as far as I'm aware, most religions are against pornography to varying degrees. but in the context that this usually comes up nowadays (porn or porn-adjacent stuff distributed over the internet), a lot of that is coming from the USA which has significant control over the internet and payment processors, and is a christian country where there is significant lobbying from christian groups towards politicians and organizations

I want to see actual studies for this. I know for a fact it reduces sexual crime. I have heard but not confirmed it may create standards which are too high and create an easy way out of sexual frustration, creating people who will just masturbate rather then learn how to interact with the opposite sex (I guess or sex you are attracted to) because it makes them uncomfortable.

I definitely was part of this group til my early 20s and still have so much I could have learned earlier in my life and used to horny-ness as a motivator to learn to properly approach and flirt with women. Quite literally, growing a pair of balls. Heck I could still learn more, but it is quite a deterrent when your are told women never want to be approached anywhere.

Generally, yes in the way alcohol can be harmful to society. The sole exception is hentai of course, as it has only improved society on a nearly worldwide scale. My own life has been greatly enriched by hentai, I was once wandering lost in a sea of regret and despair but then I discovered hentai and my life was changed for the better. I felt like a complete person for the first time in my life, I used to feel like a freak and thought everyone hated me because of how ugly I was but hentai has shown me that even an ugly bastard can find love and I think that's a beautiful thing. Truly, there was finally joy and color in my world and I ran out into the street and screamed my love for hentai and the families around had to step away from the sheer radiance of my exuberance.

I do really like porn though. The general concept? No. A lot of people need some form of sexual release, and with that the case I think pornography is actually healthier than the alternative (forming a relationship just for sex).

Now, there's definitely a case to be made that the professional porn industry itself is harmful and exploitative in general, but that's not a good argument for banning it; just regulating its practices.

To this, I dont in the aspect of simple dating.

Its not just men, its woman too. Both men and woman are a problem in dating. It's not just men.

It's 2024, not 1950. If you want equality, equality comes with the good and the bad. It's not a buffet you get to cherry pick only the good, then when it comes to the bad all of a sudden you want to point t at traditional values because it's beneficial to a particular group.

For example you specifically mentioned courting. It's 2024, a woman can "court" too.

Woman make great money nowadays, and also have great education. This isnt the 1920s where a lot of woman had to rely on men. A woman can take the initiative in dating, they can call/text first, pay for her own things, be the breadwinner, and more. Woman can also just like men, be the toxic ones who just expect shit they don't actually deserve because of some absurd mindset they are owed it. This includes roundabout ways of going about it like expecting a man to pay, or ask you out, or whatever because they are the man.

That's not even getting into the ridiculous games some men and woman think is cute courting. No, what some men and woman call courting, is just petty games no one has got time for. Essentially we have people (men and woman) wanting things both ways on a lot of things which isn't translating well in the year 2024.

Some men and woman want to both act like we are in 1915 and 2024 at the same time.
