This was after a year and a half of isolation! No events! No getting together with friends and family! No travel or vacation! I get that youre coming from the dual position of living in a shitty right wing area and someone that has been affected by long Covid, but you and other people ITT continually come from this position that theres no difference between people saying but the economy! in March 2020 and people saying hey 1-2 years of isolation really takes its toll on peoples mental health, not to mention childrens social development. That may not feel like a long time to single people without families that are just as happy sitting at home playing video games but it is a long ass time i dont agree with the cdcs new guidelines, theyre obviously in service of CEOs and I still test and mask up and stay home when Im sick but it is human nature to want things to go back to normal. Connections with other human beings is literally what most of us live for.
