Don't think I'll link it but you can find it. it's fuckin wild listening to him talk about valid concerns over how Germany was treated after WW1 and then launch into annihilating Jews like a psychopath

It's part of what made him resonate honestly. Germany absolutely got fucked at the end of the war. Some of it was deserved, but to saddle them with the full blame for what happened, then continue the blockade after the armistice (leading to an additional 100k deaths) was signed, then to attempt to permanently cripple them with reparations was asking for trouble in the long term.

Problem was Hitler's argument was essentially "this shouldn't have happened because we should have won the war. We didn't because WE WERE STABBED IN THE BACK BY THE JEWS". Which was entirely nonsensical.

I mean, that's just how populism always works.

Calling out problems is easy, providing solutions is hard.

That's how they start.

One of the things that led up to it was Germany asking France for a reprieve of the payments and they said no so Germany basically destroyed their own economy by printing money needed to pay back the debt.

I didn't really fully understand why they put all the blame on Germany. It feels like they were just a scapegoat and all that was left to blame after the ottomans were completely destroyed.

No. The general consensus is about 100k people died in the post war era due to the blockade. With about 750k dying of starvation during the war from said blockade.

Also no on the cows thing. They did take a ton of livestock though.

Hitler was a bit prone to hyperbole. He was also just a fucking liar. So whether or not he thought these things were true or he was just being hyperbolic for the sake of riling his audience is hard to say.

It doesn't really matter if the numbers are true to be honest. Weimar Germany was in such a state in the 20s, it was on the verge of becoming a failed state. The government of the day was not addressing the issues of ordinary Germans such as massive unemployment and riots on the street.

People then start to look to the extreme left (Communists) and the extreme right (National Socialists) in an attempt to find a new way. The establishment, especially President Hindenburg, would rather have a man like Hitler in charge than any communist.

Famously, when Hitler became Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor von Papen joked that he'll have Hitler cowering in the corner like a mouse when he's finished with him.

It's mostly this. If you study the writings of the Entente powers important people their goal was to crush Germany so hard that they would never be a threat to France's continental hegemony again. They had been butthurt that Germany had become a major land power from the moment that it had been created.

In William L Shirer's book The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich (which I heartily recommend) he talks about all of the different possible peace proposals that were seriously discussed. One of which was a complete de-industrialization of Germany and by doing so forcing it to be become an agrarian state of rural farmers, with no electricity or running water.

Probably stretching the truth to make things seem more dire so the people needed him specifically

You've condensed about 20 years of history into a single paragraph and done so extremely poorly. I'd advise anyone in this topic to not take you seriously.
