my dang computer hard locked and after I restarted the comp my file was wiped

it was just about to turn 23 chapters old I was going to play Hector mode but that dream has tragically been cut short

i could get a save file from online but then I cant get retro achievements, and whats the point in doing something if points wont go up?

(FE7 is still really good, Im in mourning)

The same thing happened to me. I had just started my first Hector run when the game crashed, and my savefile was all gone when I restarted my GBA.

Same here. Was toward the end of collecting all the supports the hard way (keeping everyone alive till the end) and I needed a couple more Renault and Karla supports and a couple others I believe. Saved during Night of Farewells to go eat dinner. When I came back my all my save data was gone. I was crushed.

When I finally got up the nerve to play again like a year later I would just kill off characters to reset the supports they could get. It took a lot less time but I felt bad doing it lol. I did eventually get 100% supports though.

That sucks, but try and find a silver lining. Maybe see it as an opportunity to try a different FE game. Maybe one without a western release!

Ive been considering checking out FE6 finally. Mayhap.

FE6 would not be my first choice, but it's certainly an interesting game to play as a direct comparison to 7!

6 is the only non-English one I have any point of reference for really. I guess theres another one with Marth I havent played, but I barely remember the one with Marth that I did play, and then theres a third game that I probably dont know anything about.

You should try Geneology of the Holy War (FE4).

Binding Blade would be fine to jump to as a continuation to Blazing Blade. And if you ever go back to FE7, the QoL improvements will be a lot more evident.

Since you mentioned RetroAchievements you may have to do some digging on what's compatible with the translation patch since a lot of people are commenting on the site that they can't get the achievements to pop-up.

....But I can personally attest that the pre-patched "copy" in a certain vimm vault site works with RetroAchievements right out of the box (and Mother 3 as well if you ever want to play that).

Id like to play Mother 3 again someday. Its been a long time.

I didnt know about the pre-patched versions, Ill have to look into that. Thanks for the tip
