It shouldn't have been, though. He was underage and so had his girlfriend's brother buy him the gun with money Rittenhouse gave him because he was of age. How is that not the same as having someone of age buy cigarettes or alcohol for a minor? It wasn't even a family member who bought it for him. He was also underaged while open carrying that night in Kenosha, if I'm not mistaken.

I thought it was due to the type of gun as to why it wasn't illegal? But yeah, if this is the case then the gf's brother should be charged.

Type of gun? You mean a high-powered semi-automatic rifle? It wasn't a shotgun or single shot hunting rifle he procured. If AR-15's have less regulations than guns actually used for hunting then we are truly screwed.

The gf's brother was charged. But he was able to plead no contest due to the gun charge being dropped on Rittenhouse.

And the only reason his gun wasn't illegal was a technicality. The Wisconsin law states that a minor can't be in possession of a dangerous weapon. But there's an exemption for minors being able to posses long barrel rifles, specifically for hunting. And because of the vague way the law is worded, they were able to get the gun charged dropped, even though he clearly wasn't using it for hunting. If not for that, Rittenhouse would have gotten charged for the rifle, then the prosecution could have pursued other lesser charges that likely would have stuck.

Nah he was hunting. His own words that he wanted to shoot people tell you everything you need to know. Some people are just okay with the fact he was hunting people.

Because the left has been arguing this topic for two years now & it hasn't accomplished shit. How many times are we going to relitigate it? Arguing with rightoids or anyone doing defense for him this far after the fact is wasting their time & makes us look pathetic.

If Trumpers want to say the courts are rigged even when people get convicted for seditious conspiracy or other crimes, don't be like them by saying "yeah but Kyle crossed state lines & also the gun was loaned to him" & etc etc. Just makes you people look desperate by still arguing with whoever in here. I agree with both of you Dark & SSB, I'm just telling you that those who are arguing about the Kenosha incident still aren't doing us favors.
