The only people who legitimately think that 261 was shut down because it was a liberal echo chamber are subreddit chuds, especially since its already been confirmed by people in the know that none of that was a factor.

Fandom didn't want a dedicated politics board, just like their other sites, so they axed it.

They didn't want a dedicated polticis board because dedicated poetics board attracts indidcuals like the which you see here. Vindictive, having little commons sense, prone to extreme actions and statements with little impetus and incredibly toxic. Its virtually impossible to moderate consistently and thats why many sites are abandoning the whole thing.
