It makes it legal, and it makes it incorrect to talk about people being 'underage'.

I hate to be that guy, but the age of consent for America, even Canada is 16. Obviously, the judicial system and I completely disagree with that, and it should be 18, but through technicality anyone that age can argue otherwise.

Something like 90% of the world is 16, and even in the US, there's only a few handful of states who are 18.

When i was 18 i dated a 29 year old and it ended when she was 30. Although dated isn't exactly the right word I guess lol?

When i was 37 i dated a 21 year old i met volunteering. I was kinda nervous about that knew but her family loved me.

I'm 8 years older in my current relationship.

I was not underage. No crime was committed.

I was an adult. I was working full time and paying for my own place, living on my own, etc.

You dont have to like it, but please stop talking about people being underage because I wasnt.

For those saying that its predatory, I really dont agree. I think it had the potential to be with a gap like that, but I dont think its possible to say it automatically. The same with my current partner, really. An age gap like that can be fine or it can have a massive imbalance in power which allows for predatory practices.

16 isn't an adult,period.

6 years. I was 23 she was 17.

She was pretty much working full time by that point and her parents liked me so I never thought too much about it until a bunch of people here whined at me about it.

No ragrets, she was probably my best relationship to date.

I just simply dont view a 16 year old as an adult. My peers at 16 were kids. I was a kid. Its not illegal where you are, but i cant be convinced on the morality of it.

If that doesnt make me an adult, Im not sure what does.

Reminder the age of consent has nothing to do with either biological or mental maturity. It's an entirely arbitrary number and, as long as you aren't banging people under whatever random age your state/country/commonwealth/ect has deemed appropriate, you really shouldn't be getting this worked up over the fact it's different somewhere else.

13 years I think, she was 32 and I was 19

Not sure if this counts but a 20 year old girl had a crush on me but i turned her down because it felt weird. Im 37 btw.
