Definitely games that benefit from being played in order, though it isn't critical.

I'm waiting for it to come to PC (not long to go now!). I've played Forbidden West's base game on PS4, but the DLC is only on PS5 and PC.

i was really enjoying the first few hours of the first game, but then it suddenly turned into an ubisoft clone, and i noped the fucked out of it real fast.

Haven't played this one yet but I highly enjoyed Zero Dawn and got platinum trophy on it. I was already done with the game and had moved on by the time the expansion came out and once I move on I never come back to games. Originally they had been pretty adamant that no planned DLC or anything was coming but I think they were shocked by the success of it and ended up then making an expansion.

That is why I haven't played this one yet. I'm waiting a bit to see if there will be an expansion. But yeah Zero Dawn was awesome. Super fun and gorgeous looking game for a console game.

I really liked the first one and its expansion. I've had the second one for awhile, but it's way in the backlog.

Played and loved the first one. But I don't own a PS5, so I've been waiting since Forbidden West released for the PC port coming this week.

Actually I knew about that but I was wondering if there was going to be anything else and I hadn't looked into it.

Yeah, I enjoy the series.

The gameplay can get tedious sometimes, and my only real complaint is item drops for some side quests being RNG, which is only awful because taking down larger enemies can take forever.

But otherwise, yeah, the graphics are great and it's just a fun experience overall.

there needs to be an option between "yes" and "no", honestly.

I can see -why- people like it. I'm finding it kinda boring so far myself (but not boring enough to say I don't enjoy it or preclude that it might pick up later, I'm only like 20, 30% in per the stats page)

Love the series! Stoked for the next game.

The VR game and planned live action on Amazon I think that theyve been talking about forever now. Thats all thats in the series outside of the two games and eventual third game.

I didn't particularly care for the 1st one at first. It took me a long time to circle back and actually play through the whole thing. The closer to the end I got the more I enjoyed it. But overall, wasn't a big fan.

The second one looked great, and I did end up enjoying the first one enough to warrant buying a copy. But I never finished it.

I don't like Aloy very much. She has such a self important and arrogant attitude, and yes she is very important to that world, but it's like they dialed it to 11 for her. Some of the side characters are ok, but nothing special. It just didn't have enough that I enjoyed to keep me interested in it.

Like, one of the first things you do in Forbidden West is pass through a check point. She arrives and demands to be ket through immediately. The people explain that a very important peace treaty is being signed outside the gate to end a decades long war, and that any interruption will be seen as a hostile action and the war will continue. They politely ask her to wait a few hours before she passes. Instead she hits them a "Don't you know who I am? You can't stop me, I'm going through that gate right now. You can can either let me through, or I'll fight my way through."

It's like, good god? Am I supposed to be rooting for her? There was a similar event in the first game too. She just kind of ruins the game for me. Which is a shame, because it's a fun game with an interesting world... But I cannot bring myself to care about most of the characters.

People that enjoy the game are valid.
People that think it's boring are also valid.

I get it, the open world is supposed to be massive with your traditional individual biomes and loads of quests and NPCs to involve yourself in but the way it's structured feels more like a chore for completionists and trophy hunters than a motivation to explore the territories.

Think that's the series' only major downfall because taking away everything except the main questline of the first game, the narrative stuff was actually compelling and I was thirsty to unravel more about wtf Zero Dawn means.

That didn't sound right, so I just watched a YouTube video. It did not happen at all as you are describing. She asked for passage and they are extremely aggressive.

She is just confident, assertive and has no patience for BS, but since she is a woman...

It's been a long time since I played, but that part rubbed me the wrong way either way. She still forced her way through despite knowing it'd cause a war.

Yeah. It wasn't going to "cause a war", the commandant (or whatever he was called) was just being a dick and didn't want to let her through because, well, he was being a dick.

My bad then, I misremembered. I thought it was a peace treaty thing between the clans of the woodlands that would end their war. So it made sense why one would rudely refuse to let people pass if it would interrupt things. She was just so insisting to be ket through despite all that.
