People who don't read the first post are going to say something stupid like "X million dollar American racecar won such and such world race thing" as if your average Joe is buying million dollar racecars to compete in world race things.

But more to the point, if you want your car to make it home from the dealership without breaking down, you buy a foreign brand.

Yeah, I'd never buy an American brand. I'm a car weeb, I prefer Japanese brands. I'm cool with them being made here.

Ive had pretty good luck with my Vehicles. Ive owned 3 vehicles since I came home from the military in 1999. First truck was a small Chevy S-10 that I got rid of in 2004 when I bought my house because I needed 4 wheel drive for winter driving. Never did anything but oil changes and tire rotations with that vehicle.

Second truck was a midsize Dodge Dakota. I had it for 10 years until I got in an accident and it was totaled. Besides oil changes and tire rotations the only thing I ever had to buy was the blower went out on my heater/AC.

Ive had my current full size Chevy for 10 years and only have done oil changes and tire rotations. Just put new tires on it last Fall. Never had anything break that needed replaced.

So in the past 25 years over 3 vehicles I had 1 thing that needed replaced from breaking. Ill take that. Thats not a bad run at all.

Based take. Honda & Acura & Toyota(politics aside), know how to make a fucking car. I'll buy Honda the rest of my life honestly.

Ford & Ram & GMC can fuck off

My first truck was a 79' Ford Ranger, best truck I've ever owned, saved my life when I slammed into a moose.

Since then I've been rolling with tacomas. My next truck will probably be another taco too.

I've only owned 2 cars. A '97 Dodge Stratus that had almost 300k miles on it before getting totaled, and a '16 Charger. No problems with the charger so far and the only issue I ever head with the Stratus was a blowen head gasket, but to be fair Dodge was getting their engines from Mitsubishi at the time.
