Do people still pretend she can't sing? She sounds fantastic

Is that the one where she farts into the mic?

I've thought of watching it. Not a huge fan but I hear its good but then again, its mostly from swifties. Sometimes she's not very pretty to me but then there are times where she looks gorgeous. The movie is in the category of 'hot' and showcases her legs real well.

Thing is, I don't know a lot of her music so I dont' know how I'd feel about watching it.

LWYMMD was always one of my least favs but the live performance elevated it significantly. she's looks so badass.

I'm on day 3 and still have an hour to go but it's genuinely terrific. Swift haters must truly be joyless.

I don't think I've actually seen people say she can't sing. Definitely not some standard form of criticism. Mostly they think her music is bland or "made for women who get dumped".

Probably because legitimate criticism is few and far between. You cannot objectively state that she is bland, generic, and overrated considering the insane and widespread critical and commercial success she has had.

Swifties dont care if people dont like her - my wife is one and she certainly doesnt belittle me for not being a diehard fan. Where they have an issue is with baseless criticism and attacks against her just because she happens to be successful and crazy popular.

Most of her music is based on her own life experiences though. Its not like she set out to write songs or curate stuff specifically to appeal to women who were dumped. Men can resonate with her music just as much tbh.

She can definitely sing. Her problem (live) is that her dancing is not at the same level. You can tell it's taking too much of her focus.

People interpret her music in plenty of ways, because she is a woman who has relationships that frequently don't work out she writes about that and it resonates with other women who have relationships that have not worked out.

Extremely narrow way to look at it, IMO. It can resonate with anyone that have had relationships that dont work out. People just default to misandry because she is a heterosexual woman. Men can have failed relationships with women who fit the same bill.

Yeah, I guess I did do a poor job of explaining it, you're right. That's one of the main descriptions of her music I've seen and that wasn't fair to her for me to mindless parrot.

The criticism that she couldn't sing was more common earlier in her career. She definitely has improved a lot over the years and took that to heart.

It doesn't even make any sense. Quite a lot of her songs are about sexy and stunning men lol

A lot of the criticisms towards musicians in general tend to be shallow and based on assumptions I suppose.

Most of the MCU received some critical acclaim and certainly commercial acclaim, but that's what easily thought of when "bland, generic, and overrated" are thought of with films. I don't see why it wouldn't apply to pop music. Her eras usually seem to follow up on a style someone else beat her to the punch of, but Jack Antonoff writes better for Swift than he does other artists.
