Fortunately water only goes through this line if my sprinklers are running... now I can't find my duct tape

I use this because it pulls up the roots along with the weed most of the time. I've pulled up my water line before, and I was trying to bury it again but it poked a hole in the hose. damn it, lol

Yeah... if it was a case where the water was just running non-stop, I'd be a bit more panicked. I'd have to shut water off to the house and go get some appropriate tape immediately, but my sprinkers aren't set to go off until next week any way. And I can delay it as much as I want.

Friends,

How are your water pipes that close to the service??

Of course we live in Michigan, and here it freezes, so ours are DEEP.

Seems like your sprinkler people did it cheap, and put them to shallow.

What size pipe and what type of pipe

Depending on the type and size of pipe, you could just use a repair clamp

Even more so if you said it's not in constant service

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/9/953b7a1e.jpg

$10-ish

The part that got pulled up is more like a rubber hose. Not sure of the size. Would that still work?

It should if its just one puncture

If not then it should be finding the size of the pipe, cutting off maybe 6 inches (3 inches in each direction from the hole and attaching a new section of pipe, connected to the old one with rubber boots for couplers, something like this vid

It's not a high pressure line so I believe a clamp type of patch over the hole SHOULD work

Cutting the line is certainly gonna be an adventure... let me look up those parts and tools. I guess the first thing I'll need to get is something to cut the tube with. I'll probably do that this weekend so I'll have plenty of time to run back and forth to the store. I'll have to cut the tube, then take the piece of tube to the store and get the right size couplings.

I noticed some of my sprinkler heads were broken as well. So I just had a company come out and do all the necessary work and it cost me $155, which is way less than what. I thought it would be. They also buried the line deeper and put some kind of staples down to help hold it in place.

That sounds like a steal just in terms of peace of mind and not having to mess around with it yourself. The price being reasonable is just a bonus.
