I didn't contribute to the Kickstarter, so I am not in the know in updates. I know it's coming out soon, didn't play that sidescroller the put out.

Since it's announcement it's seemed right up my ally, but after being burned in Sea of Stars last year despite confusing critical praise, I am cautious. With the actual Suikoden games being rereleased sometimes this year, is this still looking as appealing as it did originally?

also not a kickstarter backer, but the youtube previews seem like it's going to be good

the sidescroller was fine for a glorified newgrounds game. my big fear was that the proper game was going to end up also being a sidescroller with random turn-based battles, but the previews suggest that this is tip to toe suikoden 2.5

i kickstarted and got the collectors edition. not even gonna wait for it to ship; just gonna buy a digital copy and start that shit day 1

jrpg fans are absolutely FEASTING this year

The beta is coming out in a couple days for backers so I guess we'll get to know more about the game.

Based on all the marketing material though it's basically Suikoden for the modern era.
