To Donald Trump, Hungarian strongman Viktor Orbn is fantastic, Chinese leader Xi Jinping is brilliant, North Koreas Kim Jong Un is an OK guy, and, most alarmingly, he allegedly said Adolf Hitler did some good things, a worldview that would reverse decades-old US foreign policy in a second term should he win Novembers presidential election, multiple former senior advisers told CNN.
He thought Putin was an OK guy and Kim was an OK guy that we had pushed North Korea into a corner, retired Gen. John Kelly, who served as Trumps chief of staff, told me. To him, it was like we were goading these guys. If we didnt have NATO, then Putin wouldnt be doing these things.

Theres nobody thats better, smarter or a better leader than Viktor Orbn, Trump said, adding, Hes the boss and hes a great leader, fantastic leader. In Europe and around the world, they respect him.

Trump allegedly reserved some of his most unnerving praise for Hitler, who led Nazi Germany during World War II.

Trumps admiration for Hitler went further than the German leaders economic policies, according to Kelly. Trump also expressed admiration for Hitlers hold on senior Nazi officers. Trump lamented that Hitler, as Kelly recounted, maintained his senior staffs loyalty, while Trump himself often did not.
He would ask about the loyalty issues and about how, when I pointed out to him the German generals as a group were not loyal to him, and in fact tried to assassinate him a few times, and he didnt know that, Kelly recalled. He truly believed, when he brought us generals in, that we would be loyal that we would do anything he wanted us to do, Kelly told me.

At a town hall organized by Fox News in July 2023, Trump said, Think of President Xi: central casting, brilliant guy. When I say hes brilliant, everyone says, Oh, thats terrible. He runs 1.4 billion people with an iron fist: smart, brilliant, everything perfect. There is nobody in Hollywood like this guy.

Also I forgot who I was talking to a few days ago about the semantics of Trump being a Nazi vs Trump being a fascist but "not a Nazi".

I think that was facetious.

Alleged. That's the problem. Until we have proof, in text or on audio recording, it's just hearsay. Rumor and innuendo.

I like that they cite "and others." That multiple people close to him have reportedly heard him say similar things is a credible argument. But, without proof, it's all meaningless; the accusations of embittered former employees. His supporters, even those who support the likes of Hitler or Putin, will deny that Trump said any of this as long as we don't have proof of it.

I fully believe that he's a bigot. Whether he's a dyed-in-the-wool white supremacist or just allows white supremacists to fawn over him out of sheer ego, I don't know or care. He has to be stopped either way.

But what I'm saying is that this isn't likely to change any votes or inspire undecided voters to rally against him. We must have proof for that.

I don't know what's a bigger problem, that Trump openly wants to be a dictator or that a sizable number of Americans know he wants to be a dictator and are fine with it.
